   Mr. Lavrincik was in the roofers local union #74 and was a self-employed farmer for many years. A member of Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, he enjoyed farming, gardening, growing his own grapes and making homemade wine, was a beekeeper and had a love of the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

   Surviving is his beloved wife of over 50 years, Dorothy (Grigsby) of Darien Center; sons, Karl (Deb) Lavrincik Jr. of Warsaw, John (Ann) Lavrincik & Richard (Brenda) Lavrincik all of Attica; daughter, Kathryn (Tom) Lukasik of Attica; sister, Francesca Sfzarski of Attica; his wonderful caregivers, Gerri & Virginia; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

   Family and friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday October 1, 2014 at the Michael S. William worked for the Nickel Plate Road Railroad, Morton Salt Co. and the Rochester Laborer’s Union. He served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was on the USS Hammer DD-718. He received the United Nations Metal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service medal and the China Service Medal. He was a member of the Perry VFW Post #5009, National Geographic Society, and the American Legion Post #799 in Buffalo. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, watching old war movies and talking about his experience in the war.

He is survived by his companion for 23 years Thelma Flint of Perry; step-daughter Kristie (Thomas) Fravel of Perry; step-sons Randy (Colleen) Newton of Livonia , Roy Newton of Perry; grandchildren Kenneth, Marissa, Dakota, Caleb, Aubrey, Mary and Lucy.

Timothy “Poppy” Hasson, 60 of Batavia, passed way on Saturday September 27, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice. He was born on June 16, 1954 in Batavia to the late Thomas (Therese English) Hasson. He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Joy) Hasson, daughter Jeri Bartholomew and brother Thomas Hasson.

Tim was retired from Rochester General Hospital where he was an electrician. He attended Discovery Chapel and he enjoyed camping.

Tim is survived by his fiancée Darlene Martaus of Batavia, sons Craig (Jackie) Alley of Deland, FL; Robert Alley of N. Tonawanda; daughters Beth (Michael) Whaley of N. Tonawanda; Pamela (Gary) Kilgore of Batavia; Sheree (Brian) Barto of Alexander; brother Gerald (Vickie) Hasson of FL; sisters Kathleen (Jerry) Reilley of PA; and Patty (Lou) Angelucci of PA; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Jay owned and operated Cummings Collision, along with loving cars he was an avid fisherman. He loved his children very much and enjoyed spending time with his family.

LeRoy ~ Palmina "Pam" M. O'Geen, age 82, of Gilbert Street, passed away early Saturday morning (Sept. 27, 2014) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

     Miss O'Geen was born July 6, 1932 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Pauline Maloni O'Geen.

     She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate sister and aunt, who was devoted to her family.  She enjoyed baking and spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church and was a retired telephone operator, having worked at Lapp Insulator Company and Eastman Kodak.

     She is survived by her siblings, Sarah Zinni of Batavia, Frank (Rose) O'Geen of Batavia, Salvatore (Joan) O'Geen of LeRoy, Philip (JoAnn) O'Geen of LeRoy, Joseph A. (Donna) O'Geen of LeRoy and Connie Cecere of LeRoy, along with many loving nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, James M. O'Geen.

     Family and friends are invited to attend her Rite of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, 27 Lake Street, LeRoy.  Private interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

She was a proud WWII veteran having served in the Women’s Army Air Corps at the Rome NY air base during the War and in the Reserves for a number of years afterward. She worked as a research chemist for Alllied Chemical in Solvay NY for nearly 40 years and competed in many bridge leagues in Syracuse until moving to Rochester in 2009. Annie was a Bronze Life Master in the American Bridge League. She was an accomplished chef, seamstress, and artist as well. The Family wishes to thank all of her caregivers at Cottage Grove, especially Cathy Casey and Marva Williams.

She is survived by her daughters Pamela D. Korte and Lorrie D. Divers of both of Rochester, former son in law John M. Korte, Luis Arzu (AFS son), brother and sister in law Kenneth (Dorothy) Divers, several nieces, nephews and grand-dogs Gina and Blush

She was survived by daughter, Kelly Nordby, son-in-law JR Nordby, grandchildren Cole and Finley Nordby and Mackenzi and Hagen Clark, daughter-in-law Danielle “Katie” Clark, sister Sharon Meisner, brother Ralph Marvin, nieces Lorie Wawrzyniak, Patty Charles, Kristy Bowen, and nephews Jimmy Barrett and Bradley Meisner. 

She was an active community member throughout her life.  Her involvement included a Sunday School teacher at Alexander Methodist Church and color guard captain in the Alexander Fire Department Band.  She graduated from Alexander Central School in 1967 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from The College at Brockport: State University of New York in 1971 and her Master’s Degree in Education at Old Dominion University in 1983.  She was a Reading Specialist and Assistant Principal in Chesapeake, VA for 25 years.   Linda will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit and her passions for singing, cooking, her golden retrievers and especially her grandchildren.

Oakfield - Mr. Marcus F. Crandall, age 55, of Oakfield, passed away on September 23, 2014 at his home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice with his loving wife by his side.

Mr. Crandall was born January 12, 1959 in Batavia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Joyce Cortright Crandall.

Mr. Crandall retired in 2011 from Rochester Local 435 where he was a laborer/foreman for 22 years.

A dedicated and faithful member of the Genesee Country Church, Mr. and Mrs. Crandall enjoyed their horses and horseback riding together.  An avid carpenter and woodworker, Mr. Crandall, along with his wife built their home in Oakfield. He enjoyed tinkering around with old Ford cars and most of all cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1977-1981.  Mr. Crandall was stationed in Okinawa, Mt. Fuji, and Korea. Stateside he was stationed in Yuma, Arizona and Sanmataio, California.  Mr. Crandall received ranking of Lance Corporal/ Corporal Meritoriously.   Mr. Crandall was unable to continue his career in the military due to an injury he received while on duty in Sanmataio, California.  

Mr. Crandall is survived by his wife, Barbara Falker-Crandall whom  he married August 23, 2003; his children,  Jacob (KatieLee) Crandall of Amherst,  James (Molly Smith) Crandall of Alexander, Joliene (Chris Pritchard) Crandall of Batavia,  Joshua  (Samantha Anastisia) Crandall of Amherst,  Despina (Mitch) Regan of Oakfield,  Maria (Andrew) Thompson of Oakfield and Lazaros (Brittany Kessler) Solomonidis of Oakfield;  nine grandchildren, Gabriel, Sunset and Aurora Crandall, Gavin and Preslee Crandall, Dakota Palmer, Paige Schultz, Amelya Regan and Emma Thompson;  four sisters, Kathleen (Leonard) Moultrip of Arizona, Darlene Weger of Georgia, Cheryleen (Paul) Morrow of Batavia, Tammileen (Clifford) Heap of Perry, and several nieces and nephews.

He is the brother of the late Michael and Russell Crandall.

   Kaitlyn was born July 25, 2014 and brought tremendous joy to her family, she is now in heaven forever in the arms of the angels.

Stoney enjoyed spending time at Rushford Lake, he was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish along with being an avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees Fan.

He is survived by his longtime companion Sandra Graff of Attica; sister Sharon (Eugene) Anderson of Attica; nephews Eric Anderson of Bronxville, NY; Aaron (Christine) Anderson of Attica; nieces Marianne (Mark) Linsey of Bennington; Dianne (Scott) Reiner of Bergen; along with several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Scott R. “BJ” Booth Jr., 23 of Attica, passed away on Saturday September 20, 2014 In Alexander. He was born June 4, 1991 in Warsaw to Scott R. (Tess) Booth Sr. of McEwen, TN and Kathy L. (Murray) Booth of Attica. BJ is preceded in death by grandmother Emma Murray and grandfather Harry Booth Sr.

BJ was a past member of Faith Works Church in McEwen, TN. He was an avid hunter. He will be remembered for having a big heart, his infectious smile, bear hugs and his motto of “living life to the fullest”.

He is survived by brothers Shawn and Lucas Booth of Attica; sister Krystal Frye of Batavia; step-brothers Steven Ferguson, Michael, Corey and Tery Oskar all of Akron, OH; grandparents Darla “Sally” (Robert) Quider of SC; Robert Murray of Darien along with 3 nieces, 1 nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Batavia - Rodney A Smith, 55, of Batavia, a Machine Operator at Whiting Overhead Door, in Akron, passed away Sunday, (September 21, 2014) at Crossroads House, in Batavia.

Mr. Smith was born January 21, 1959 in Medina, a son of Laverne Smith of Basom and the late Marilou (Goetz) Smith.

He served his country honorably with the Marine Corps from 1978-1983 and received a Navy Unit Commendation while serving in Lebanon.  Rod was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia and for several years coached youth football. 

He will be remembered for his love for his children, his Miami Dolphins and the Marine Corps.

Surviving along with his father are his children, Adam Smith of Batavia and Heather (Tim) Pahuta of Henrietta; a brother, Randy Smith of Basom; sisters, Rebecca (Mike) Cherry of Oakfield and Rosalie (Richard) Robinson of Basom; nieces and nephews, Michael (Cara) Robinson  of North Port, FL, Benjamin and Jessica Cherry of Oakfield, and Lola Robinson of North Port, FL.
