Syracuse - Allan D. Loughborough, age 87, of Syracuse, formerly of Albion, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.          

Mr. Loughborough was born January 4, 1930 in Rochester, the son of the late Eldred C. and Leonora Steffen Loughborough.

He graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Loughborough's career as a pharmacist spanned 54 years. His father, Eldred, was the former owner of Central Pharmacy in Pittsford, where Allan’s career began. He was the owner of Chilson's Pharmacy in Brighton for many years, worked for 10 years as the pharmacist at the Albion Correctional Facility and at K-Mart. Al was a member and past president of the New York State Board of Pharmacy.

A longtime member of Holy Family Parish in Albion, he was a member of Our Lady of Peace in Syracuse. He was a member of the Brighton Volunteer Fire Department from 1953-1978 serving as Battalion Chief for 3 years. A friend of Bill W., he raced harness horses for many years. He enjoyed fishing at Canandaigua Lake and had a camp in the village of Honeoye Falls for many years.

He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He is predeceased by his first wife, the former Jean Arndt Loughborough who passed away in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Roth Loughborough, whom he married October 2, 1985; his children, Mary Lee Bishopp of Pittsford, Thomas W. (Anne) Loughborough and Ann (Jim) Doeller, both of Rochester; step-children, Patrick (Jackie) Salvador of Liverpool and Susan (Dennis) Tresco of East Syracuse; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Gerald (late Mary Ann) Schuler of Batavia.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home 403 East Main Street, Batavia. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. SHARON M. SAUERS ~ Batavia

Age 63, departed in peace Monday May 8, 2017 at Crossroads House. She was born May 13, 1953 in Elmira, NY to the late Edwin and Helen (Yosh) Mansfield.

Mrs. Sauer's was a graduate of Elmira Heights High School and Elmira College and began her early working career in the employment field, where she found her niche.
Sharon started with Temp Force in Corning, NY and then TAD & Adecco in Rochester when finally in 2006 she founded ATB Staffing Services in Medina, NY and the company flourished behind her leadership. The office was her home away from home, she loved being there working with her staff, "The Girls", Barb, Jennifer, Bonnie, Tammy and Wendy. Sharon loved conversation which always turned to conservative politics, her hobbies included cooking and travelling with and for her husband, Tom. Her presence, laughter and smile will be forever missed but held in the hearts of all who knew her.

Wilbur Wayne Brackett, 103, of Akron passed away peacefully, on May 8, 2017. He was born on November 26, 1913 in Akron to the late Wayne and Ruth (Ashbury) Brackett.
Wilbur was a 1932 graduate of Akron Central High School. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 74 years, Gladys Meiser. Wilbur worked as a carpenter for Erie County. He loved  working with wood and became well known as an expert cabinet-maker. He especially loved camping and fishing.

His children, Philip "Joe" Brackett of Batavia and Donna (Ronald) Hatcher of Akron survive him. Nine grandchildren, Twenty-one great -grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive him. A daughter, Lois Weibel and daughter-in-law, Doris Brackett predeceases Wilbur.

  Roslyn Kehl Nonnengard, 89, of Batavia, a loving and devoted mother of 5 died on May 7, 2017 at her daughter’s home with her family present. She was born on June 29, 1927 in Sheldon to the late Levi and Agnes (George) Kehl. In addition to her parents, Roslyn is predeceased by her husband of 67 years; Blain Nonnengard whom she married on Sept. 18, 1948 and resided in with their children in Alexander, Avon and Batavia; She was the sister of the late Peter “Bud” Kehl, Francis Kehl, and sister in law of the late Robert Reisdorf, Audrey Kehl, Charles and Margaret Rich.

Roslyn was a devoted member of Resurrection Parish and active in many parish organizations at St. Mary’s Church. For many years she was the primary caretaker of the alter, sacristy and vestments at St. Mary’s. She served on the parish council, the Liturgy Committee, Alter Society, Bereavement Committee, Sodality, Catholic Daughters and was a frequent Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She received the St. Joseph Worker Award from the Diocese of Buffalo in 2008 for her efforts. Roslyn enjoyed volunteering to help others and did this for many years as a Meals on Wheels volunteer, worked at the Senior Center to help others understand their health insurance. Her work career included working at the Beikirk Ford Dealership in Avon while her children were young and after moving to Batavia she worked for Braukman Controls which would later become Honeywell. Roslyn will be remembered for her terrific cooking, her strong faith and her love of the New York Yankees.

She is survived by her children; Bonnie (Gary) Kullman of Albany, Nancy (Ronald) Bouchard of Perry, Jane (late Robert) Burnup of Victor, Jo Louise (Todd) Wilkes of Batavia and James Nonnengard of AL.; sisters Betty Reisdorf and Dorothy Irvin; she was blessed with 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Anna Louise (Duncan) Thomas of Batavia went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2017 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. Anna was the daughter of the late Hugh W. and Betsey Yeager Duncan. Anna was preceded in death by her late husband William F. Thomas, sisters; Pearline Lucas, Cecelia Duncan and brother Murphy Duncan, and one granddaughter Stacey A. Johnson.

Anna was born in Rochester, NY and later moved to Batavia. She married William F. Thomas and out of that union they had 10 beautiful children. When Anna was a young girl she loved playing the piano and singing. Anna was very witty, she loved her children, and was always there for her family. Anna loved to laugh, and she loved to babysit her grandchildren. Anna was proud that she had given all of her children middle names that began with the letter A. One of her favorite things to say was” love you more”. Her house was always open to everyone and she loved to cook for you when you came to visit.

She is survived by sisters; Beulah Duncan Coleman, Phyllis Duncan Griffin of Rochester; (10) children; Patricia Johnson (The late Sylvester Johnson), Rick (Mary Jo) Thomas, Kirk Thomas, Rand Thomas, Bart (Carmen) Thomas, Tim Thomas, Vicki (Jeff) Shelnut of Alexander, Peggy (David) Vasciannie, Bill Thomas and Greg Thomas ,all of Batavia. 20 grandchildren: Rick, Nick, Kirk, Shareen, William, Bart Jr., Shamarr, Adam, Tim, Brittney, Brandon, Justin, Jason, Aaron, Troy, Casey, Brandon, Alexis, Ashley, and Amber; and (18) great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

Anna will be missed by all but mostly by her children who will, as she always said, “love you more.”

Muriel Ruth “Merle” Willard, 92, of Darien Center passed away peacefully at home on Friday May 5, 2017 under the care of hospice and her loving family. She was born in Attica on October 22, 1924 to the late Arthur and Delia (Seufert) Suess. Mrs. Willard is predeceased by her husband Donald E. Willard; brothers Richard, Robert, Irving, Norman and Arthur Suess; sisters Janet Riley and Marylou Edwards.

“Merle” was a homemaker all of her life, along with being secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s farm supply business.  She was also employed with the New York State Police and with an insurance agency for a number of years. Merle loved canning and crocheting and also was a seamstress for her whole family.  She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and during her later days, looked forward to doing the crossword puzzle from the Batavia Daily News every day.  She is remembered by her warm smile, fun-loving spirit and great love of nature. She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, and former member of Attica Legion Auxiliary, Darien Fire Department Auxiliary and Farm Bureau.

She is survived by her children; Lana (Jerald) Schlagenhauf of Darien Center, Mary Edmonds of FL., Donald A. Willard of Attica, Dale (Paul) Haller of SC., Laurie Mairose of Darien Center; sisters Ardyth VanValkenburg, Lorraine Kirkpatrick and Natalie Slocum; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

 Sandra L. Oberlander, 72 of East Pembroke, passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 peacefully at her home. She was born May 25, 1945 in Attica to the late Laverne (Dorothy Dean) Hendershott. Sandra is preceded in death by her brothers Duane and Lee Hendershott.

Mrs. Oberlander was a longtime member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Legion of Mary and Eucharistic Minister. She loved shopping, especially garage sales. Sandra was the rock of her family and always there for all of them no matter what. 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Paul Oberlander of East Pembroke; children Sandra Jean (Randy) Dixon of Colorado; Paul Oberlander Jr. of Salt Lake City, UT; Scott Oberlander of Virginia; sister Sheila (John) Henderson of Tennessee; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Willis R. Teachen, 92, of Darien Center passed away peacefully on Thursday May 4, 2017. He was born on June 1, 1924 in Bennington to the late Roy and Lena (Schmelzle) Teachen.

Willis was a graduate of Alexander Central School, employed by G.L.F. Coop, Batavia Bus Lines, and became a bus driver for Empire Trailways, retiring in 1986.  He enjoyed wood working, his lawn care, and especially travelling.  He and his wife toured extensively by auto and motor home throughout the United States and Canada, wintering in Florida.  In later years he enjoyed the coffee meetings with friends.  Willis was a life-long member of Salem United Church of Christ and past president of Fairview Cemetery in Bennington.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 69 years, Shirley (Klossner) Teachen of Darien Center whom he married August 25, 1948; nephews Jerry Griffiths of Attica, Gary (Babe) Griffiths of South Wales, NY., along with great nieces, nephews and many friends of all ages.

In addition to his parents, Willis is predeceased by his sister and brother in law; Thelma and Donald Griffiths; nieces Sharon and Donna Griffiths.

Newark/Bath - Carolyn K. Corbett, 66, of Newark, formerly of Bath, passed away Tuesday, (May 2, 2017) at Rochester General Hospital, in Rochester, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Corbett was born August 17, 1950 in Geneva, a daughter of Frances “Fran” (Fuller) Kerns of Clifton Springs and the late Oscar Kerns.

Prior to her retirement, Carolyn was a Public Health Nurse with Steuben County Health Department.  She was a longtime supporter and volunteer of the Steuben County Humane Society.  She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs.  Carolyn had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed cross-stitching, and spending time with her family.

She is the wife of James C. Corbett, of Newark.  The two were married in Clifton Springs on September 27, 1975.

Surviving along with her husband and mother are two daughters, Jessica (Nicholas) Boise and Mary-Kate Corbett; two sisters, Myrla (Bruce) Elliot and Beverly Kerns; nephews, Robert Elliot, Richard Elliot, Greg (Crystal) Corbett, Geoff (Michelle) Corbett, and Neil Crevling; great-nieces, Skylar, Brooklyn, and Lila Corbett.

HELEN M. DOODY ~ Batavia

Age 90, died early Tuesday morning May 2, 2017 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. She was born November 21, 1926 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late, Joseph and Mary (Beltowski) Kristine, also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Doody in 2006 and brothers, Matthew & Joseph Kristine.   

Mrs. Doody was a lifelong member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's) and it's Sodality. Helen was a tireless volunteer with the St. Jerome Hospital Guild, and avid bowler, a participant in YMCA exercise classes, trips to the casino to play the "Penny Slots" and was a known Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed sitting down to watch a good game. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving woman who was truly devoted to her family. 

Surviving are her loving children, Debbie (Ron) Spiotta of Batavia, Gary (Patricia) Doody of Batavia, Joseph (Margaret) Doody of Pittsford and Daniel (Linda) Doody of Delaware; sister, Mary Jewell of Rochester; grandchildren, Patrick (Julia) Doody, Michael (Renee) Doody, Scott (Heather) Doody, Colleen (Jeff) Doran, Matthew (Jen) Doody, Kristen (Nate) Hopfinger, Bryan (Christina) Doody, Cheryl (Joseph) Biegas, Lauren (Chris) Dorf & Michael (fiancé, Bethany Hess) Spiotta; 17 great-grandchildren; nephews, Tom (Kim) and Tim Jewell all of Rochester along with many friends.

Tami J. McGill, 56, of Batavia passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born on December 29, 1960 in Dansville to William (Cathie) Mattice of Wayland and Beverly Stewart of Dansville.

Tami was loved by so many. She was an energetic and caring person who would help anyone in need. She enjoyed cookouts and family gatherings while spending time with her grandchildren. Tami loved going to the casino and playing bingo. She loved her job cooking for the residents at the nursing home and spending time with them. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Tami is survived by her loving husband; Dana McGill of Batavia; children Marissa McGill of Batavia, Shannon McGill of Le Roy, Kelsey McGill of Batavia and Adam McGill of Batavia; siblings Elena Herkimer of Wayland, Terry Stewart of Rochester and Billy Stewart of Wayland; 2 grandchildren Landon and Brennen, along with many nieces and nephews.

Peter C. Rademacher, 63, of Attica passed away suddenly at his home on Friday April 28, 2017. He was born on September 19, 1953 in Buffalo to the late Francis and Millicent (Van Yserloo) Rademacher. He is also predeceased by his brother Mark Rademacher.  

Peter Charles Rademacher, affectionately known as ‘Big Pete’ was the fourth of ten children and grew up in Wales Center, New York. Throughout his time at Iroquois High School he utilized his athletic prowess on both the wrestling and football teams before graduating in 1972. Post-graduation he decided to serve his country and proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After three years of honorable service Big Pete chose to separate from the Marine Corps and join his family construction business, Rademacher Brothers Inc. Although he enjoyed working with his family Pete felt a higher call to public service so he became a New York State Corrections Officer, where he would serve for the next 27 years until retiring out of the Attica Correctional Facility where he met some of his very best friends. For Big Pete, the single most important thing in life was family and it always began with Elaine, his wife of nearly 39 years. Duke, as he called her, was the love of his life, his best friend…his everything. Together they had two children, Amanda and Matthew Peter. Big Pete was at his absolute happiest when he was spending time with his grandchildren. By all accounts, he was immeasurably the world’s best Grampy and Pop-Pop. Pete took joy in hitting the open road on his Harley-Davidson, rooting for Buffalo’s Bills and Sabres, watching his daily dose of Fox News, wood-working, listening to classic rock while enjoying his cold beer and playing with Frankie, or his “sweetie” as he called her, his beloved dog.

He is survived by his loving wife; Elaine (Badding) Rademacher of Attica; children Amanda (Shannon) Wood of Crestview, FL., Matthew (Lee) Rademacher of Wyoming; siblings Francis (Cathie) Rademacher of Derby, Glen (Ruth) Rademacher of Omaha, NB., Paul (Mary) Rademacher of Orchard Park, Mary (George) Heltz of N. Java, Nancy (Trevor) Swan of Las Vegas, Jane Rademacher of East Aurora, Lynn Schrimmel of Elma and Karl (Brenda) Rademacher of Wales Center; grandchildren Mackenzie, Madeline, Logan and Wyatt along with many nieces and nephews.

Kevin graduated from Notre Dame High School, where he excelled in cross-country and track. He won many league championships and held the two mile record for over forty years. Kevin graduated from Niagara University where he won many races and was All-State runner in 1971 and 1972. Kevin managed stores for F.W. Woolworth Co. in Rochester NY, Erie PA, Pittsburgh PA, Utica NY, Schenectady NY and Albany NY. Kevin then owned and operated a Ben Franklin store in Gloversville NY with his wife Nancy. Kevin was the manager of Big Lots in Troy NY when he was forced to retire early due to this horrible disease. Kevin was an avid Boston Red Sox and Buffalo Bills fan. He enjoyed golfing and fishing at his camp. Kevin was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish in Johnstown NY.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, his brother James Hanley from Rochester NY, his son Gary Call Hanley (Julie) from Nashville TN, his step-son Robert Kraemer (Sarah) from Johnstown and his three wonderful grandchildren Kevin from Nashville, Madelyne and Michael from Johnstown. Kevin is also survived by his favorite Uncle James O'Neill from Flushing NY. Kevin also leaves behind his constant companion, Irish Setter Blarney.

Mary B. Printup “Doesy”, 51 of Batavia, passed away Saturday (April 29, 2017) at Rochester General Hospital.

She was born October 3, 1965 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of Dorothy White Printup of Batavia and the late John Cody Printup.

Mary was a 1983 graduate of Batavia High School and was employed by Hillside Children’s Center in Batavia as a Skill Builder II. She enjoyed learning Native American genealogy and history. She enjoyed attending concerts, especially with her nephews. She also enjoyed cooking and traveling to the casino. Mary had a love for her niece, nephews and all children and enjoyed spending time and participating in activities with them.

Surviving beside her mother are her sisters, Patricia (Gerard) Potrzebowski of Batavia and Jody L. Printup of Batavia. Brother, John C. Printup Jr. of Batavia. Niece, Naomi (Jeff) Hansen. Nephews, Angus Abrams, Brett (Kim) Judd and Aaron Printup. Great-nephew, Drew Hansen.

She was the sister of the late Laurie Printup Judd.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Tuesday (May 2nd) from 3-6pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, NY, where her funeral service will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 6pm. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
