Obituaries

Alice “Jean” Roda passed away on July 8, 2021 at the age of 99.  She was born September 11, 1921 in Williamsville, NY to the late Bert and Elizabeth (Chittenden) Brennan, and was a resident of Genesee County (Batavia, Elba & Byron) for most of her life.  Jean worked in a number of office positions after obtaining a degree at Rochester Business Institute, and retired from the USPS in 1978.  She was also involved in the community through her church, Byron First Presbyterian, and volunteering (Meals on Wheels, blood drives and UMMC).  Jean will be missed by all who knew her.

Jean is survived by special niece Ann B. (Peter) Van Horn, niece Barbara Tedder, nephew Robert D. Brennan, friend Judy Ames who visited often, as well as many grand/great-grand nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Everett Roda, brothers Kenneth D. & Thomas J. Brennan, sister Elizabeth B. Bigelow and nephew Donald B. Bigelow.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 11am at the Byron First Presbyterian Church, 6293 West Main Street, Byron on Monday.  Private interment in Byron Cemetery.

Rochester - Madison R. Boorom, 20 of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, (June 22, 2021) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Madison was born October 3, 2000 in Rochester, a daughter of Denise Boorom of Rochester.

She loved animals and rescued several cats and dogs over the years. A caring person, Madison enjoyed her work caring for patients as a Health Care Aide with All Metro. She liked to sing, dance, do her hair and nails, and wash her car. She cherished time spent with family and friends.

Surviving along with her mother is her twin sister, Emily Boorom of Rochester; an aunt, Susan (Frank) Chittenden of Corfu; uncle, Michael Boorom of Batavia; special aunt and uncle, Elsa and Tony Trotto of Irondequoit; cousins, Zachary, Cody and Wyatt Chittenden.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Lois Boorom.

A private family service was held for Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite no kill animal shelter.

Byron - Alan A. Hyde, 72 of Byron, passed away on Wednesday, (July 7, 2021) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Mr. Hyde was born June 11, 1949 in Batavia, a son of the late Avery E. and Myrtle (Richardson) Hyde.

Alan was a Navy Veteran who served with the US Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 121 in Vietnam and past commander and life member of VFW Post 1602 in Batavia. An avid golfer, Alan was a member of Batavia Country Club. While working with BernzOmatic, he was instrumental in developing the fire element used in the 1996 Olympic Torch, an accomplishment he was extremely proud of.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. (Hume) Hyde of Byron; son, Adam A. (Caitlin) Hyde of North Bergen; grandson, Paul Alan Hyde; sisters, Gloria (late Jerry) Klein of Florida, Sue (Paul) Cocuzzi of Holley, Linda (Ivan) Camerera of South Carolina, Cathy Hyde of West Seneca, and Terry (Bill) Dixon of North Carolina. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

Alan is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Paul Hyde.

Nancy Bradlee (Luh) Burns of Bennington, NY, passed away June 30, 2021, in the peaceful surroundings of her home with her daughter and grandchildren beside her. Nancy was born September 25, 1934, in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Howard C. Luh and Helen (Bradlee) Luh. She was educated in the City of Tonawanda where she met and married Robert J. Burns Sr.. They were married 67 years when Bob passed in 2018.

Nancy was immensely proud of her long and notable American heritage dating back to 1620. Two of her great aunts unfortunately were convicted of witchcraft and put to death as a result of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. She is descended from a former mayor of NY City, prominent members of the clergy and a pioneering Western NY engineer. Her favorite ancestor however, was her 4^th Great-Grandfather, Nathaniel Bradlee, who was one of the “Indians” of the famed Boston Tea Party. He along with his fellow “Indians” dressed for the Tea Party at his house and hid in beds there afterwards. When the British came looking for them, his sister, Sarah Bradlee, convinced the British Officers that they had been in their beds all night. Sarah, a great patriot in her own right, carried secret messages throughout the Revolution and General George Washington himself visited their home after the war to thank her personally. Nancy was an organizing member of the Anna Ingalsbe Lovell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution based in Batavia, NY. She served many years as the Chapter Chaplain.

A humble Christian woman, she had great faith in her Lord. She possessed many Bibles, all of which she had read numerous times, and all were highlighted with her favorite passages. She was hilariously funny without ever trying to be. Nancy was always surrounded by her extended family of dogs, cats and birds. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader of mystery novels.

Nancy will be remembered as a loving, giving and selfless person who would help her family in any way possible, always placing their needs before her own. She taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the true meaning of unconditional love.

Her family extends special thanks to Pastor Rosann Lowder of Bennington’s Salem UCC Church for bringing communion, prayers, blessings and conversation every Sunday during Nancy’s declining health.

Besides her parents and husband, Nancy is predeceased by a son, Timothy Burns, her sister June Lizzio, and her brother Richard Luh and his wife Mary.

She is survived by her children, Linda Burns, Robert J. Burns Jr., Dawn (David) Berg, Bradlee (Laurie) Burns, Nanette (Thomas) Beechler, Michael (Angela) Burns; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. Services will be held privately with family.

  Richard M. Potwora, 62, of Batavia passed away on July 7, 2021 at Unity Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Batavia on May 12, 1959 to the late Richard and Barbara (Johnson) Potwora. In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his wife; Mary (Stevens) Potwora.

Richard worked for many years at Syntec Optics in Rochester. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR and loved baseball, especially his hometown Muckdogs.

He is survived by his children; Cassandra (Jacob) Ward of Oakfield, Norman (Danielle) Michael of Batavia and Dustin Potwora of Miami; sisters Judy (Dave) DeJohn of Geneva and Karen (Fred) Potwora of SC., 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours and Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Henry C. “Hank” Zalewski, age 70, of Portageville, NY passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 7, 2021.  He was born in Warsaw, NY on January 18, 1951 a son to the late Bronislaus and Victoria (Swiontek) Zalewski. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife: Lorraine (Blaszak) Zalewski who passed away in 2000, sister: Jean Bzduch and brother: Stanley Zalewski.

Hank was a 1969 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was a self-employed electrician for many years. Hank loved being a Husband, Dad, and Grandpa. Known too many as being an awesome guy.

He is survived by his wife: Jan (Dell) Osborn-Zalewski of Portageville, daughter: Sara (Chris) Scollon of Dansville, son: Brandon (Mindy) Zalewski of Perry, step-daughter: Lauren (Chris) Blauch of Morris, MN, 3 step-sons: Kasey (Alison) Osborn of Indianapolis, IN, Dan (Katie) Osborn of Aurora, NY, Nate (Amanda) Osborn of Perry, 3 sisters: Mary Ballard of Perry, Joan (Bill) Romasser of Leicester, Carol (Adam) Koziel of Perry, 12 grandchildren: Jahzlin, Maciej and Teagan Scollon, Isabella, Dexter and Lewis Zalewski, Elise, Brodie, Nevie, Hayden and Fiona Osborn and Ada Blauch along with many nieces and nephews.

Louis James Stoller, Sr., 54 of Collins, NY, passed away on Tuesday (July 6, 2021) at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY, following a brief illness.

He was born August 12, 1966, in Cheektowaga NY. Son of Irene Paulino Stoller of Corfu and Louis Joseph (Gloria) Stoller of Clifton Park, NY.

Lou truly had a love for life. He enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, golfing and bowling and at the center of it all the love for his family. The proof of that being what he carried in his wallet- pictures of his family. Lou was one of the hardest working men we knew, sometimes even his priority. He was always there for a friend in need, with a helping hand and a caring heart. Lou had loyalty to everything he believed in, especially the Buffalo Bill’s and his faith in the lord. Lou will be remembered for his free spirit, not caring what others thought he would sing his heart out at games or karaoke and danced as if no one were watching. With a heavy heart we know he is watching over all of us now and is at peace.

Surviving besides his parents are his children, Ashley (Michael) Meyers of LeRoy, Amber Stoller of Churchville and Louis (Trisha) Stoller Jr. of Campbell, NY. Grandchildren, Rayna Stoller, Catelyn Terboss, and Aiden and Owen Meyers. Siblings, Raymond (Amy) Stoller of Fort Edward, NY, Nicole Stoller of Clifton Park, NY and Ronald Markek of Batavia. Also survived by several other family members.

Robert Donald Ayers departed this life peacefully at age 92, on July 4, 2021 at LeRoy Village Green. He was born in Cortland, NY Sept. 7, 1928, to the late Donald and Aldine Ayers. He was married for over 63 years to the love of his life, Barbara Davall Ayers, who passed away on Sept. 12, 2012. They will be together again in Heaven

His lifetime career was in the transportation industry, working 37 years for Red Star Express. For 23 years he was the union steward for the Teamsters organization at Red Star. While working full time, he also did crop farming on his farm in Spafford NY, overlooking Skaneateles Lake, and helped his father and brother maintain the family dairy farm in Lapeer, NY. He was always a hard worker and typically had the equivalent of two full-time jobs.

He moved his family to Batavia in 1965, and soon volunteered as a Genesee County Auxiliary Police officer, where he eventually achieved the rank of captain, while he was also working at Red Star.

After his retirement, they moved to Leesburg, Fla., in 1992. While there he was treasurer at the First Presbyterian Church in Leesburg and she was an elder and chairperson of the worship committee. He also taught Defensive Driving for the AARP 55 Alive Florida safety program and eventually became the Assistant State Coordinator for Florida.

They moved back to Batavia in 2006 and joined the First Presbyterian Church where he was an elder on session and the chair of the Personnel Committee. He also was an instructor in the Genesee Valley BOCES Adult Education Program, CDL Class A Commercial driver license training.

Throughout his life he loved to help people in a number of ways. When he saw a need, he would be right there to do whatever was needed. He truly was a “jack of all trades." It seemed like he knew how to fix or build anything!! He loved his family and would drop anything to respond to a wide assortment of “fix-it” situations.

He learned how to play the organ when he was in Florida. He and Barbara would play lovely piano and organ duets together. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping trips to Northern Canada (the more remote the better) with his father in law, brother in law, son, nephew, uncles, and family friends.

He was a person of great faith. He loved his church and rarely missed a Sunday service. No matter how hard he worked, he always had Sunday open for church followed by lunch at a favorite diner and then a Sunday drive along country roads.

He is survived by daughter Donna (David) Blake, of Stafford, and son Tim (late Julaine) Ayers, of Fairfield Pa.; grandson Brendan (Shauna) Blake, of Byron; sister-in-law Lucie (late Arland) Ayers, of Batavia. As well as nephews (late Doug) Helen Leastman, Jerry (Karen) Leastman; Kevin (Rachel) Leastman; and nieces Judi (Kurly) O’Brien and Joanne (late Richard) Kennedy, all of Arizona; grand-nephew David Leastman, of Florida;  many dear friends and extended family.  

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at LeRoy Village Green for their loving expressions to our dad. They went out of their way to show dad kindness and compassion and as a result were very special to him. Seeing them always brought a huge smile to his face and twinkle to his eyes. Their love for him was especially apparent during those last weeks of his life. As a result of their compassionate care, he was comfortable and at peace. COVID in 2020 made personal contact difficult but we were comforted knowing he was surrounded by the love of his LVG family.

In addition, dad loved our pastor, Roula Alkhouri (of Batavia First Presbyterian Church) and each time she visited it was apparent as he smiled and had that twinkle in his eyes. Thanks be to God for the many ways she radiated the love of God to him.

The family will receive friends and all those who loved Bob on Wednesday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Main St., Batavia, NY.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Parker Street Cemetery in Lapeer, NY.

Jane Miriam Daly Moran, 97, a resident of Dublin, OH, and a former resident of LeRoy and Stafford, NY, and Clarks Summit, PA, entered into eternal life on June 30, 2021, after an extended illness. Jane was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John H. (Jack) Moran, Jr.

 

 Jane was a proud and distinguished member of the Greatest Generation.  She was born in Trenton, NJ, in 1924, and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1942.  On her 20^th birthday, in an era when women were expected to stay at home, she enlisted in the United States Coast Guard to serve her country. She served for two years in West Palm Beach, FL, and Cleveland, OH.  In 1946, she was Honorably Discharged as a Yeoman, First Class, and married Jack.

     After raising her family, Jane received her Associate’s degree from Genesee Community College and worked for a number of years at New York State Family Court in Batavia, NY, retiring in 1989.

     Jane was a special mother-in-law to the women that her sons were fortunate to marry.  She made everyone feel welcome, and as her extended family grew, she knitted unique and personal Christmas stockings and a host of other gifts for her grandchildren.

     Jane was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Helen (Byrne) Daly, and by her three sisters: Ursula Horner, Doris Maddalena, and Joyce Matzer.  She is survived by her four children: Col (USAF, ret) Terry (Dianne) Moran of Dublin, OH; Kathleen Moran of Springfield, VA; Dr. Michael (Jeanne) Moran, Sr, of Lancaster, PA; and Patrick (Dana) Moran of Rochester, NY; as well as nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

     The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Capital City Hospice, in particular nurse Amanda, for the exceptional care provided to Jane during her last months.  The family would also extend their appreciation to the caregiver staff of Comfort Keepers, especially Pam. 

     Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 13 from 4 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Jane’s honor at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy, NY, at 11:00 AM on July 14, 2021.  Interment will follow at St Francis Cemetery in LeRoy, next to Jack.

Batavia - Anne E. Funston, 81 of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, (July 3, 2021) at LeRoy Village Green following a brief illness.

Mrs. Funston was born April 19, 1940 in Wyandotte, Michigan a daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Boddy) Benjamin.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and a former member of the Grand View Cemetery board of directors. She enjoyed quilting, listening to music, and spending summers in Lake Pleasant in Hamilton County.

Anne is the wife of the late David L. Funston who passed away December 29, 2020.

Surviving are her children, Barbara (John) Baker of Stafford, Virginia, and Brian (Kristin) Funston of Golden, Colorado; grandchildren, Alison (Jeffrey) Baker Bryant, Samuel (Kayla) Baker, Elsie Baker, Jeb Baker, Margaret Funston, and Matthew Funston.

Anne is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Benjamin.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for both Dave and Anne on Tuesday (July 13, 2021) at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 405 East Main Street in Batavia. Anne will be laid to rest beside her husband in a private ceremony in Grand View Cemetery in Batavia. Sevia Joan “Joani” Tatarka, 71, of Batavia passed away on July 5, 2021. She was born in Clovis, New Mexico on June 19, 1950 to the late Joe Cephus and Fern (Turner) Daniels.

Joani was a loving wife to Bob, a loving and doting mom to Rob, Chris and Melissa and an exceptional grandmother to Alayna, Kylie, Casey, Alex, and Zack. She was a homemaker at first and when her children were old enough, she stepped easily into the role of vice president of the family business, Tatarka Technologies. She retired in 2011 after 14 years. Joani and Bob had been happily married for over 50 years.  They were true soulmates.

Joani was a 12-year breast cancer survivor and played a major role in raising breast cancer awareness to everyone she touched. She was a huge fan of baseball and football. She loved the Yankees, Mets, and Buffalo Bills. In her spare time, she loved to read, play bingo, make ceramics, active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, active in dancing lessons with her daughter and collected Cherished Teddies and anything to do with giraffes. Besides the love she had for her family, Joani loved her pets: Daisy, DB, Winston, and Molly. And her Grand- dogs: Ozzy, Frankie, Mix, Patch, Emma, and Jersey.

She is survived by her loving husband; Robert “Bob” Tatarka; oldest son Robert (Crystal) Tatarka, middle son Christopher Tatarka and Daughter Melissa (Brian) Adamczyk; grandchildren Alayna, Kylie, Casey, Alex, and Zack; brothers Lynn (Barbara) Daniels, Thomas (Ronda) Daniels and sister; Kayla Daniels.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 12:00PM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 9, 2021 at Resurrection Parish 303 East Main St. in Batavia. Joani will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.

  Lewis VanValkenburg, 74, of Bergen, NY passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2021. Lewis was born on October 18, 1946 to Neil and Evelyn VanValkenburg in Batavia, NY.  He leaves behind his blushing bride of 52 years, Margy (Bucknam), their 

 children: Kathy (Matt) Barbaro of Cape Cod, MA, Sarah (Rich) Howard of Peosta, IA, Maryann VanValkenburg of Henrietta, NY, Paul (Jennifer) VanValkenburg of LeRoy, NY, and Neil (Krystal) VanValkenburg of Geneseo, NY, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his two sisters, Barbara VanValkenburg of Mt Morris, NY,  Beverly Martin of Lancaster, PA , many nieces and nephews, along with very close in-laws, Betty and Patrick White. 

     He married the love of his life on June 21, 1969 in Warsaw, NY.  Lewis spent many years working as a farmer and for the Town of Riga Highway Department until his retirement in 2005. In his 30 years of service, he showed integrity, knowledge, ingenuity, and strong work ethic every day. His love of red tractors was second only to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sharon Lee Tolson was born on July 22, 1941, in Hanford, California. She crossed over into Heaven on July 2, 2021, while holding her daughters’ hands. A consummate California girl, she grew up on the beaches of Southern California during the best of times. Her beauty was such that she was asked to become a movie star in the late 1950’s. Instead of stardom she chose to be a wife and mother. She was a complex person that didn’t believe in calling anyone an “ex”; once you were in her family- it was for life, there was no

getting out. She is predeceased by her former husband and children’s father, David R. Brown whom we’re sure she’s bossing around at this very instant and also her parents Thomas T. Tolson “the love of her life” and Jessie L. Tidwell (nee Pannell) definitely not the love of her life. Although she loved “her” California, she chose to put down her roots in the later part of her life in Batavia, NY. She loved all the trappings that come with small town life. Everyone called her “Gran” and she couldn’t have been prouder of that. She was a little crazy, swore like a sailor and taught the younger generation of the finer uses for the “F” word, drank Pepsi from morning until night and never met a stranger she wasn’t willing to befriend or invite for the holidays or if you were in a bad way, offer to do your laundry and make you corn dogs.  She is survived by brothers William (Vicki) Tolson of AZ, Leedel and Denis (Kathy) Williamson of SD and Inez American Horse of SD. She is also survived by her children Mark (Sherry) Brown of St. Helens, Oregon and Maryann Brown, mother to Michael and Matthew (Amanda) of Long Island, Thomas (Robin) Brown of Northport, Florida and their children, Steven (son of Vikki Brown), Craig, Travis, Tim and Casie. She is also survived by her daughter Debra Dumuhosky (who took care of the hardest of jobs and also talked to her 27 times a day- burgeoning Alzheimer’s = so many calls ), and partner William Gregory of Batavia, NY and David Dumuhosky father to Robert (Jessica) and Julia Rossiter, her daughter Kathryn Shaver and partner Keith Bow, of Corfu, NY and Ronald Shaver father to Maxwell (Rebecca), Sebastian (Melissa) and Kassandra (James Kerwin). Kass was her best friend, the one that was supposed to make sure to keep everyone in line and whom she entrusted her beloved Pom Teddy to because “he only barks when someone is at the door” and this trait is helpful. She died knowing that her favorite people called her “Gigi”; Paige, Everett and Henry Brown, Gabrielle and Olivia Dumuhosky, Alexis Merrell, Brockton Rossiter and Bennett Kelly, Evangeline Kerwin, and a whole tribe of great grandchildren in Florida she had yet to meet. There are many nephews and nieces that will miss her as well. There are no funeral arrangements. A celebration of life will be held when the family can get their act together. God help us if they have the weather channel in Heaven, Momma. We’ll miss you. See you later, Gorgeous.

Donald J. Donnelly Sr., died peacefully on July 4, 2021 after a lengthy illness at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Donald J. Donnelly and the late Lorraine (Weig) Donnelly. Donald was married to Joan C. (Mader) Donnelly for 47 years. He was the oldest of 8 children, Raymond (Maureen), the late Neil (Deborah), Maureen, Lorraine Kane, William, Christopher (MaryAnn), and Lillian and the late David Sroka.

Don's children are Beth (Bill) Shepherd, Fred Stringham, Paula Jo (Keith) Carson, Brenda (Chuck) Scotchmer, and Donald J. (Barbara) Donnelly Jr. Grandchildren include, Nicholas and Donald J. Donnelly III, Heather (Leo) Saia, Ron (Cassy) Carney, Caryn (Anthony) Bosse, Eliza (Mike Woods) Stringham, Emily (Jordan Martin) Stringham, Dalton Moi and Corrine Mori. Don is also survived by his great-grandchildren #'s 1 through 5 ¾ .

Don was an avid outdoorsman. He was a lifetime member of Alexander Fire Department, a member of West Star Lodge 413, and Genesee County Ducks Unlimited. He was a longtime coach of baseball and football for Tri-Town Youth Athletics. Don retired from the New York State Department of Corrections after 31 years.

Per his request there will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 10, 2021 starting at noon at the Beachhead Veteran's Club, 3188 Broadway Rd. Alexander, NY 14005.

Batavia - Bernard E. "Bernie" Hanley, age 84, of Batavia, died peacefully on May 7, 2020 at the home of his daughter while under the care of Hospice and his loving family. Bernie was born on February 9, 1936 in Fulton, New York, a son of the late Laurence and Mary (Welch) Hanley.

He was a graduate of Batavia High School; served his country honorably with the US Army during the Korean War and was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s). He was well known in the harness horse racing circuit as an owner/trainer for many years, having purchased his first horse, a pacer named Chief Maynard. He also raced Mac's Miss Mary, Irish Dancer A, Overnight Guy, and several others during his career.

Most would remember Bernie and his wife Mary Ann as the owners and operators of Hanley’s Restaurant just across the street from Batavia Downs and quickly became the "horseman's hangout" after races. After retirement, the Hanley's moved South to enjoy the sun for close to thirty years before moving back to Batavia to be closer to family. While in Florida Bernie was a member of the Deland Amvets Post #13 and the Deland Elks Lodge #1463 along with the Glenn S. Loomis American Legion Post #332 in Batavia. He will be remembered as a hard-working man who loved his family deeply.  

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann (Musshafen) Hanley of Batavia; children, Patrick (Carol) Hanley of Alabama, Elsie (Greg) Lee of Batavia and Dr. Greg (Angela) Hanley of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Mary Hanley of Akron; 10 cherished grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

His brother, the late Larry Hanley has since passed away.

Family and friends are invited to attend Bernie's Mass of Christian Burial on July 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street in Batavia. Burial with military honors will follow in Grand View Cemetery in Batavia.
