Ruthanne was born in Curwinsville, PA in 1940 to Gertrude and George Doan.  She later married and moved to Batavia, NY with her then husband and raised 2 sons.  She had 2 small businesses and operated a massage therapy practice from her home.  As an ordained minister she was always helping and healing others in her own special way.

She loved gardening and planting flowers.  She was also the proud owner of the worlds largest and gnarliest trumpet vine that often blocked passage onto her front porch.

She is survived by 2 sisters, 1 son, a granddaughter and various nieces and nephews.

Scott was a 1969 graduate of Lancaster High School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country in Thailand.

After graduating from Genesee Community College, Scott joined his father at Byrncliff Golf Resort & Banquets where they worked together to make it a premier stay and play golf and ski destination in Western New York. His most proud professional achievements include working alongside his father, wife and then daughter and son-in-law to grow the business.

He served his community in many ways, including with the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, which included a term as President. Scott founded and then coordinated the Cardboard Olympics for 25 years to raise funds for the Varysburg Fire Department and Rescue Squad.  He loved spending time on the golf course, grooming cross country ski trails, bowling with his buddies and jamming on the guitar.

Ultimately, none of those things brought him as much joy as spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Patricia (Blair) Meidenbauer of Varysburg, daughter, Lindsay (Brian) Eddy of Varysburg, brother Randall (Bernice) Meidenbauer of Lancaster, four grandchildren, Lucia, Charlotte, Olivia and Lucas, along with many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

They will remember him as a loving husband and father, kind and generous community member, and fun grandpa who loved to go for rides for ice cream!

Jean M. Ewert, 86, of East Pembroke, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Jean was born on March 30, 1935, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Ralph Pfalzer and Grace (Rodgers) Pfalzer Astor. She was the wife of the late Richard Ewert, mother of the late Gail Joyce and sister of the late James Pfalzer and John “Jack” Pfalzer.

Jean was a talented seamstress and work for many years at the Darien Knitting Mill. She loved cooking, baking and gardening but especially enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Jean is survived by her children, Gary (Beth) Ewert, Cindy Judd and Jerry (Peggy) Ewert; son-in-law Joseph Joyce; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; siblings, Donald (late Marilyn) Pfalzer, Vern (Joan) Pfalzer, Tom (late Janet) Pfalzer and Eileen (Ron) Mast; sisters-in-law, Theresa Pfalzer and Janet Pfalzer. Many nieces and nephews also survive. 

Family and friends may call Thursday, September 23, 202,  from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu, NY. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately with only the immediate family.

Duane, the second youngest of 8 children, he graduated from Pembroke High School in 1957. He joined the National Guard and was a SPC5 Tank Commander in part of a radar controlled mobile 3 gun artillery unit.

As the owner/operator of Dreamland Supplies he did maintenance and repair of mobile homes for 30 plus years. He retired and moved to a cottage in Nunda, right next door to the house he was born in. Duane remained there with his wife Patricia of 24 years before moving to Attica, to be closer to his family.

He was always tinkering with something and enjoyed collecting and processing scrap metal, fixing or re-purposing things and drinking coffee at local diners. Duane also enjoyed his 6 wheel ATV, camping, hunting and spending time with family.

Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (Myers) Marble of Attica, son Greg Marble of Darien, step-children, Calvin (Meri) Kelsey of Basom, Lynne (Jeffrey) George of Strykersville, Robert Kelsey of Batavia, Kerry (Michelle) Kelsey of Alexander, sister, Lila (Henry “Junior”) Robinson of East Bethany, Lester Marble of Albion, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours, services will be held privately.

Isabelle was a longtime member of the Attica Artists Group and loved to paint. She also enjoyed baking, reading, golf, gardening, birdwatching and happy times with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Norman Burr of Sarasota, FL, Donna (Marc) Andre of Attica, and her grandson Erik (Michelle) Andre of Darien.

A private Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica.

Gloria was born Tuesday, July 5th, 1938 in Batavia,  a daughter of the late Revere Phelps and Arlie Ferris Phelps.

Gloria enjoyed puzzle books and taking rides in the car with her sons.  She cherished her time with her family and had a deep love for all animals, especially dogs. A person of deep faith, Gloria enjoyed attending church services while living at Washington Towers.

Surviving are her sons; Paul Kempton of Newark and James (Bonnie) Kempton of Lockport; her granddaughter; Ashleigh Kempton; two step-granddaughters; Michelle and Heather Kunselman; sisters; Gail Welker  of Batavia and Virginia Phelps  of Rochester and her nephew; David Phelps.

There are no prior visiting hours. He was born August 28, 1923 in Batavia, a son of the late Clarence and Luella Burrill Andrews.

Mr. Andrews was employed as a public accountant and bookkeeper for Woodruff Door Co. in Batavia prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the Northgate United Methodist Church.

He is predeceased by all of his seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Thelma Schiller Andrews of Batavia. Sons, Donald (Mariela) Andrews of New Jersey and Keith Andrews of Batavia. Daughter, Beth Andrews of New Jersey. Grandchildren, Steven, James and Melina.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

She was born June 30, 1968 in Alexander, NY, a daughter of the late Cletus and Onolee Osborne Ritchey.

She was formerly employed as a nurses aide for the Genesee County Nursing Home, where she retired after 25 years of service. Debbie enjoyed taking trips to Letchworth and canoeing. She loved her family and cherished spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terry Conrad of Batavia. Children, Nicholas Conrad, Kassondra Conrad, Julie (Christopher) Gallup and Nathan Conrad, all of Batavia. Sister, Tammy Liteer of Rochester. Brothers, David Ritchey of Rochester and Terry Ritchey of Batavia. Also survived by five grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ted was born on December 11, 1945, the eldest of four children born to the late June and Herbert Genagon of Byron, New York. He grew up on his family’s dairy farm, where a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors was instilled in him at an early age. He attended Byron-Bergen School and was a member of the Genesee County 4-H program from 1955-1964. He proudly showed his family’s Holstein cows, including his favorite cow Lucy, and won Master Showman twice. This was a legacy he was proud to share with his children and grandchildren.

Upon high school graduation, Ted attended Rochester Business Institute, but knew his heart was back in Genesee County, where he would spend the rest of his life working with his hands. He was a skilled electrician, farm worker, welder and mechanical engineer and worked for L. Brooke Farms, the United States Gypsum Company, Doehler Jarvis, Rochester Products and finally Eastman Kodak Company where he retired in 2005.

Ted took pride in always bettering himself and learning new skills, and spent years attending night school at Genesee Community College where eventually earned his Associate’s Degree in 1993. He shared his passion for the outdoors with boy scouts, serving as Scout Leader for the local Elba, New York troop.  He also earned his recreational pilot’s license and became an avid photographer. He spent his retirement returning to his love of farming, and worked at Naas Farms in Oakfield, New York, Zuber Farms in Elba, New York and Del Mar Farms in Batavia, New York until this year.

Ted enjoyed sharing his lifetime of stories and experiences with family and friends. His warm and inviting personality meant he never met a stranger, and one introduction to Ted guaranteed you a helping hand or an invitation to his home for a meal.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, including his first wife Kathryn Genagon, daughters Laura (Kevin) Kemler of Albion, New York and Amy (Al) Hagovsky of Gaithersburg, Maryland, stepdaughter Tammy (Rich) Cook of Batavia, New York, brother William Genagon of Byron, New York and sister Nancy Genagon of Bolivar, Tennessee. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Kirstie, Lennon, Lindsie, Anya, Orion, Willow and Calvin, and his great granddaughter Ophelia. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth (Weinert) Genagon.

Internment will be private. A celebration of life will be jointly held for Ted and his recently deceased wife Ruth “Ruie” Genagon for family and close friends.  A 30 year veteran of the Batavia force Mark was predeceased by Karen his loving wife of 51 years.

 Mark is survived by his children Mark (Kathy) Robinson and Kellie (Jamie) Baker as well as his brothers Richard (Cindy) Robinson, Kevin (Susan) Dowd, his nephew Scott Giddings, his grandchildren Peyton and Trevor Robinson along with several other nephews and nieces.

 A 1968 graduate and class president of LeRoy Central School, Mark was a key member of both the LeRoy basketball and football teams, for which he served as team captain.

 As a police officer, a little league coach, a husband, a grandfather and father Mark was known as honest, direct, hard working, sarcastic and loyal leader!

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (September 22, 2021) from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia, where a brief non-denominational service will follow from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Mark has donated his body to the UB School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Randy was born March 8, 1957 in Batavia, a son of Herb Ridd of Bergen and the late Josephine (Beedham) Ridd.

Randy enjoyed camping, the races, holidays and spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for always helping others.

Surviving along with his father are his daughters, Bryana (Zack) Tomporowski of Alden and Randi Lynn (Dominic Tiberio) Ridd of Holley; grandchildren, Jayce Tomporowski and Mason Ball; a sister, Robin (Randy) Mitchell of Bergen;a brother, Roger (Kel Quinn) Ridd of Bergen;  nieces and nephews, Jessica (Josh) Quaintance of Bergen, Kyle (fiancée Lauren Lindsay) Mitchell of Churchville, Jodi (fiancé Joey Shanley) Mitchell of Churchville and Ian (Grace DeValder) Ridd of Batavia; his girlfriend, Jessica Holtz of Batavia; the mother of his children, Jean Ridd of Bergen; great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Betty and Ted Wride.

Randy's Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 25 at the Bergen Rod and Gun Club, 6410 North Lake Road in Bergen.

Steve was a strong, optioned man whom loved to fix on cars, refurbish furniture, gardening/landscaping, traveling, cooking (especially beans) and ALL animals. 

Steven is predeceased by his sibling Pamela Rose and David Eugene Sr. 

Steven leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Stacey L. Smith and Kendra Scott of Batavia, step-son Barry Johnson.  Brother and sister-in-law Charles Jr and Penny Smith of St. Louis, MO. Sisters Veronica Smith and Debra Smith both of Batavia. Sister-in-Law Charlese Smith of Akron Ohio. Grandchildren Gyna, McKyi, Aries and Miracle. Steve will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pavilion ~ Cody R. Lowe, aka Cody Bob or CoCo, age 21, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 15) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

     He was born November 30, 1999, a son of Chris and Beth Lowe of Pavilion.

     He was predeceased by his grandma, Mary Beth Weddle and great-grandparents, Ken & Fran Lowe and Wes & Betty Kline.

     Cody was an amazing young man with autism.  At 10 1/2 years old, he went to live with Lifetime Assistance for 8 years, then moved to Doylestown, PA with Foundation Behavioral Health for 3 years and recently moved to a home with Fingerlakes DDSO.  Cody was known for his amazing smile and infectious laugh!  He loved music and loved to dance.  He loved animals, especially cats...he was crazy about cats.  His love was Taylor Swift and his momma!  He gave the best forehead kisses.  McDonalds was his all time favorite place to eat. 

     Cody has touched so many people's lives!  He will be greatly missed.  Cody donated his organs to at least 3 people.

     The family would like to thank everyone that has been involved in his life.  You all made a difference.  We appreciate you all.

Mrs. Lewis worked for the Daily News for many years. She always donated her time, energy and love to volunteering at the Salvation Army in Batavia. She was an avid Bingo player and truly loved to play and call any chance she got. Margaret enjoyed delivering papers at Washington Towers too.

She is survived by her children, Les “Mickey” Micheal, Charmaigne Michel of Batavia, siblings, Leon R. Hale Jr of FL, Judith (Zenon) Kowal of Lockport, Paul “PJ” Hale of Tonawanda, one grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
