Lillian worked at the Genesee County Nursing Home and Genesee County Home Care. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and the Unity Council #6 of Buffalo.

She is survived by her daughters Ethel Smith of Batavia, Linda (Dale) Camp of Adams, Carol (David) Allen of Batavia; brother Earl Kohler of PA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.

Robert was a United States Army Veteran. He worked for General Motors in Tonawanda for 35 years. Robert was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Robert enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, water skiing, boating and go carts. Robert also enjoyed scratch offs and horse races. He was well liked and best known for his sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife Rose (Baker) Pratt; children Linda Pratt of Orchard Park, Peggy (Larry) Strohm of Attica, Gary (Sara) Pratt of Batavia; brother Donald (Diane) Pratt of Florida; sisters Marjory Wallace of CO, Hattie Mosher of Brockport; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thompson worked as a Highway Maintenance worker for the New York State Department of Transportation. He was a life member of the Fish & Game Protected Association at Godfrey’s Pond which he was also a former board member of for over 20 years. Mr. Thompson loved riding and fixing motorcycles, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter.

He is survived by his loving wife Robin (Doktor) Thompson of Bergen; son Steven Thompson of Batavia; daughter Mary Thompson of Batavia and granddaughter Madison Tryon of Newfane.

She is survived by children Gary (the late Cherie), James (Paula), Bradley (Denise) Dean and Julie (John) Neth all residing near her in Alexander. Also surviving are her 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews as well as her best friend and sister-in-law Audry Bea.

Her special joys however as she always said were her grandchildren Tammy, Tracy, Jason, Summer, Nichole, Tiffany, Brittany, Gary, Greg and Jamie.

Batavia ~ Gary L. Tooley, age 76, of East Main Street, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 29, 2015.

     While in grade school, he developed polio and spent many months in Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.  His young desire to walk and play again, along with excellent care at the hospital, saw him eventually fully recovered.

     Gary attended Northwestern Univ. in Chicago and Asbury College in Wilmore, KY.  As a young man, he worked for Western New York State Lines, a family trucking business, on Pearl Street Road in Batavia, as a Fleet Superintendent and later as Vice President of Operations until the untimely death of his father, the owner.

     He loved gardening, refinishing furniture and had a keen business mind.  Later in life, he realized an interest in helping others with serious health problems, so he trained and became a Home Health care giver for many years until an infection in his right foot caused the loss of that leg.  Gary was never heard to complain about this disability, but he greatly missed providing care to his many patients through Rochester General Hospital.

     Gary is survived by his children; Timothy (Loralee) Tooley of Medina, Jeffrey Tooley of Fonda, NY, Jonathan (Charlene) Tooley of Batavia, Ruth (Randy) Carter of Kingston, GA and David (Celena) Tooley of Goldtown, W. Virgina; sister,Marcia (Sam) Yacuzzo of LeRoy; brother, Gordon (Kathleen Blackburn) Tooley of Medina; mother of his children, Barbara Tooley; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.  He was predeceased by his wife, Gayle Tooley.   

     Family and friends are invited to attend Gary’s Service of Remembrance on Friday, Sept. 4 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church, 5 East Main St., LeRoy.  Interment in the Cowlesville Cemetery will be private.

Irene was born February 13, 1920 in Gates, a daughter of the late Harry and Rena (Pfund) Van Cott.

Irene is a former member of Stafford Country Club and a 40 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie (John) Mench of Spencerport; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Anthony) Vigliotti, Stephanie (Cristian) Bieg and Jessica (Karl) Dubash; six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Irene is the wife of the late Kenneth J. Turner and sister of the late Frederick Van Cott and Ida Fishbaugh.

There are no prior calling hours.  Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford.

Boots previously worked at Crown Cork & Seal in Grand Prairie, Texas; he was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union. He was a graduate of Batavia High School. Boots is a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam as a heavy artillery operator. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and swimming.

He is survived by his loving wife JoAnn Palaszynski-Fisher-Plath of Batavia, son Mitchell Plath of Colorado Springs, CO, step son Dan'l Fisher of Batavia, step daughter Kelly Fisher of Hawaii. Brother Alan (Deborah) Plath of LeRoy, sisters Alice (the late Paul) Martino of California, Gracia Leavy and Cathy Chatt both of Batavia, brothers in law Roger Palaszynski of Batavia, Ronald Palaszynski of Stafford, sister in law Nancy Plath of Batavia along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Charles was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War where he received 2 Bronze Stars. After leaving the military Charles became an owner/operator of Rogers Transport in Attica, he also owned a local Dairy Farm in Attica and throughout the years was also a mechanic for Alden Trucks.

He is survived by his sisters Shirley Kemerer of PA, Jean Rossi of PA; nephews/godsons Charles (Nancy) Rogers of Darien Center and Michael (Mary) Rogers of Attica along with several other nieces and nephews.

Paul was a grocer having worked over 60 years for  Loblaws and Top Supermarkets. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Glenn S. Loomis Post #332 American Legion. He was a former member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s). Paul loved to work and he especially loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Penny (John) Pratt of Sumter, SC, sisters-in-law Margaret “Maggie” Worth and Lucille Olivieri both of Batavia. 3 grandchildren Amy (Adam) Mefford, Caitlin (Joseph) Kepler, Erin (Tyler Stuck) Pratt all of S.C., special friend Rose Porter of Rochester and several nieces and nephews.

Her teenage years were consumed by World War II. She shared many stories of the nightly bombings and blackout periods, city children sent out to the countryside for their safety and very stringent food rationing. In England during the war, women who had reached their 18^th birthday had a choice of working on a farm or working in a factory manufacturing ammunition. Dorothy chose to make cardboard and wax shell casings.

Dorothy married Cyril John Wills from Castle Pollard, Ireland on July 26^th, 1947 in Liverpool, England. She followed her husband to Toronto, Canada and then on to the United States with the hope of making a better life. She left behind her mother, sisters and brother.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Margaret (Ken) Shobbrook, Doreen Croft and brother William Aldersey.

Dorothy retired from McCurdy’s in Rochester after 12 years of service as a consultant in the drapery department. She was an active member of the Transatlantic Brides Association. After moving to Batavia she volunteered in the gift shop at UMMC. She was an accomplished knitter and made many hats for babies born at UMMC. She made a super apple pie and enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Lesley (Edmund) Kosiorek of Batavia; two grandsons, Casey (Debra) Kosiorek of LeRoy and their children, Katherine, Matthew and John and  Joseph (Samantha) Kosiorek of Fairport and their children, Ella and Abigail; a son, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired USAF) Russell Wills of Mary Esther, Florida and a grandson, Derek Wills of Ogden, Utah and a granddaughter, Wendy (Kurt) Vinhage of University Park, Pennsylvania; a brother in law, Ken Croft of Liverpool, England and a nephew, Michael Croft of London, England.

Francis graduated from Purdue in 1943 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and later went on to become a professional engineer. He was the President of F.J. Guppenberger, Inc. Francis was big into the Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Meal on Wheels with his wife Carol. Francis was also on the City Planning Board and he was a life time member of St. Mary’s Church and often volunteered there and at St. Mary’s School.

He is survived by his sons Thomas J. (Cherie) of Washougal, WA; Peter W. Guppenberger of Batavia; daughters Terri M. (Donald) Hunter of Bogota, NJ; Susan C. (the late William) Keidel of Churchville; Mary Beth (Robert) Lovria of Batavia; Ellen A. (Alan) Beideck of Saranac Lake; Linda L. (Alan) English of Central Square; Lisa K. (Dean) Hewitt of Perry; daughter-in-law Mary Lou Guppenberger of NC; 27 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers Joseph M. of Batavia; James (the late Jean) of FL; Rev. Harold was a 4th generation owner and operator of Valley View Farm which has been passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was active in several farm organizations. Harold was also a lifetime member of both the Alexander United Methodist Church and Alexander Fire Department, and was also on the Alexander Town Board of Appeals. Harold loved woodworking and could often be found in his shop. What Harold loved the most however, was spending time with his family.

Mike grew up with three brothers and three sisters in Blasdell, NY, attended Attica High School, and graduated in 1959, after which he joined the US Air Force for six years.  Mike was a devoted family man, community minded, and civically engaged.  On June 19, 1965 he married Linda Stepp, and together they raised three children where he enrolled in Genesee Community College in 1975 and studied Business during his time there.  Mike was a village justice in Attica, NY for over a decade and was an active member of the Attica fire department for numerous years.  He worked for GTE Sylvania, from which he retired, and after he and Linda chose to pursue separate interests, Mike moved to the central New York area to work at TRW.  After entering retirement for a second time, Mike moved to his final home in Texas to be with his daughter and grandchildren. Mike was a highly social person who enjoyed hobbies that allowed him the opportunity to spend time with friends and family.  He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending a peaceful day by the water.  He was always a loyal Buffalo Bills fan, cheering them on, win or lose.  Additionally, Mike enjoyed a good game of poker and spent many of his final years enjoying regular poker games and camaraderie at the free poker nights held near his home in New Braunfels. If a family member or friend had a need of someone, Mike was always the first to step up, often putting aside his own agenda to assist someone else. 

Mike is survived by three children, Marnee (Nathan) Weir of New Braunfels, TX, Michael Ryan of Buffalo, NY, and Matthew (Melanie) Ryan or Scio, NY, five grandchildren, Elissa Weir, Jessica Weir, and Ryan Weir of New Braunfels, TX and Zachary Ryan and Alexander Ryan of Scio, NY, his ex-wife, Linda (Stepp) Ryan of Clearwater, FL, his brothers Tom Ryan and John (Rosemary) Ryan, his sister Patricia (Steven) Valentine, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He is predeceased by both of his parents, his brother Charles Ryan, and his sisters Geannie Tooley and Eileen Ely.

Ervin was a farmer most of his life. He owned and operated the Shado lawn Dairy farm in Delevan from 1952-1976. He relocated to Castile where he became a field manager for Vigortone, winning many awards and trips. He also owned and operated Castile Radiator Shop while running Shado Lawn Strawberry Farm which developed into Shado Lawn Farm Market. In the fall the market became an attraction to many for the Pumpkin Tree he put together. He retired from Bow Hill Farm in Wyoming.
He was a member of the Holstein Friesian Association and was a state officer for the Eastern Artificial Breeders Association. He was an accomplished woodworker. He enjoyed playing guitar and being with his family.
