Lucas S. Dillon, 2, of Perry died on Monday September 21, 2015 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.  He was born on August 25, 2013 in Warsaw the son of Jeffery S. Dillon and Valerie A. Halstead. He is preceded in death by a Maternal Great Grandma: Marcy Halstead, Maternal Great Grandpa: Robert Altoft, and Paternal Great Grandparents: Guy (Mary Etta) Dillon.

Lucas was always such a happy boy and had an infectious laugh.” He enjoyed music, playing patty cake with family members, kicking a soccer ball around, and watching movies. His favorite movie was Monsters University. He loved Winnie the Pooh. His favorite meal was spaghetti and Pizza.

He is survived by his Parents: Jeffery S. Dillon and Valerie A. Antoinette E. Corbelli, 88 of Williamsville and formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday (September 20, 2015) at Brompton Heights Assisted Care Facility in Williamsville. 

She was born January 14, 1927, in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late John and Sophie Zimnal Wandryk. 

Mrs. Corbelli was a Registered Nurse for the former St. Jerome Hospital prior to her retirement. She was also a member of Resurrection Parish and the church sodality. 

She was predeceased by her husband, John R. Corbelli, who passed away October 14, 2010. 

Survivors include two sons, John (Jane) Corbelli of Amherst and Richard Corbelli of East Amherst. Grandchildren, Mary, Jennifer and Annie. Brother Frank Wandryk. Sisters, Anne O’Grady, Jane Crowe and Constance McGuire.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

She was the sister of the late Onofre Wandryk, Michael Wandryk, Caroline Wandryk, Rose Wandryk, Veronica Bezon and Sophie Trybushyn.

Blain A. “Doc” Nonnengard 89 of Batavia passed away Sunday September 20, 2015 at the NYS Veterans Home at Batavia.

He was born in Batavia, January 7, 1926, son of the late Alfred Rich and Maebelle Kelsey, and he was the adopted son of J. Raymond Nonnengard.  He was a 1943 graduate of Alexander High School, and then attended Morrisville State College to obtain a certificate in aeronautical instrument repair, before working at the Curtiss Wright factory in Buffalo till he was drafted.  He is preceded in death by his brother Charles Rich and son in law Robert Burnup.

Blain served his country honorably in the United States Army Aircorp during World War II as an Infantryman and worked in aeronautical instrument repair while stationed on Iwo Jima. He fought battles along the airstrips on Iwo and Saipan, earning two Bronze Stars. After the War, “Doc” used the GI Bill to pay for training at Simmons School of Embalming in Syracuse, NY. He worked for the Charles Reding Funeral Home in Attica for several years. After starting his family, he became a lineman and then Line Supervisor for 35 years at Niagara Mohawk Power Company in Avon and Batavia. He belonged to the Lions Club of Avon, and later the Kiwanis Club of Batavia. He was a member of Our Lady of Batavia Knights of Columbus and Resurrection Parish. He enjoyed his memberships of many years in the Penn Yan Hunting Club and the Civil War Roundtable of LeRoy. He maintained long time memberships in the American Legion, VFW as well as the Alexander Fire Department. He will be remembered by friends and relatives for always having a joke to share, having the best supply of homemade venison jerky and sausages, handing out Dumdum lollipops, giving Fireballs out on the golf course and for his outgoing nature. A happy man with an easy smile.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Roslyn Kehl Nonnengard of Batavia, he was the father of Bonnie (Gary) Kullman of Albany, Nancy (Ronald) Bouchard of Perry,  Jane Burnup of Victor, Jo Louise (Todd) Wilkes of Batavia, James Nonnengard of Birmingham Alabama, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was a special father to Carole (Mike) Grotrian of New Zealand and Gioco (Sergio) Lopez-Faini of Quito, Ecuador.

Marion Ricci, 91 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 20, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 22, 1923 in LeRoy, to the late Louis (Josephine Andalora) Baglio. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Ricci Sr., brother Frank Baglio, sisters Jennie Paladino, Josephine Maida, Sarah Forti, Mary Perry, Rose Wallace and Grace Baglio.

Marion was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s in Batavia and then Ascension Parish. She was extremely family oriented and loved spending time with those closest to her.

She is survived by her sons Charles Ricci Jr. of Arlington, VA; Gary Ricci of Batavia, sister Carmen (Ralph) Cintorino of Byron, along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 23, 2015 at Ascension Parish corner of Swan and Sumner St. Batavia, NY 14020. She will be entombed in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Batavia.

Batavia - Esther Cotton, 103, of Batavia, passed away Saturday, (September 19, 2015) at the Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Mrs. Cotton was born April 7, 1912 in Cogan House, PA, a daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Rosella (Meyer) Brewer.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Batavia since approximately 1932 where she served as former church treasurer and secretary and was a member of the Bonafied Class.  She volunteered at the former Genesee Memorial Hospital in the Snack Shop, was a Girl Scout Troop leader for 13 years, former secretary of the U.S. Power Squadronetts, taught the NYS Young Boaters Course for 4 years; was a member of the Bridge Club, 500 Club and Order of the Eastern Star #247 in Batavia. She was also a member of Sunset Beach since 1940

She is the wife of the late Roy E. Cotton, who passed away in 1969.

Surviving are her children, Richard (late Shirley) Cotton of Batavia, and Linda (James) Beachel of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Cheryl Hyde) Cotton of Elba, Mark (Cheryl) Cotton of Corfu, Cathy (Anthony "Tony") Mancuso of Batavia, Beth Ann (Douglas) Diegelman of Batavia, Debra (Robert) Perry of Barre Center, and Douglas (Brittnie) Beachel of Baldwinsville.  11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a niece also survive.

Esther is preceded in death by her brother, Foster (late Mary) Brewer; and her sister, Dorothy (late William) Denius.

LeRoy ~ Michael J. Macaluso, age 92, passed away Friday evening (Sept. 18, 2015) at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia.

    

 Mr. Macaluso was born December 18, 1922 in LeRoy, a son of the late Charles and Carmella Lamendola Macaluso.

     He will be remembered as a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was a veteran of the US Army, and a member of the American Legion and Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Church.  He retired from Lapp Insulator Company with 45 years of service and was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Alice Paladino Macaluso; his children, James (Linda) Macaluso of LeRoy  and Phyllis (Jon) Frantel of Canandaigua; grandchildren, Jimmy Macaluso, Anthony Macaluso, Cathy Frantel, Joe Frantel and Annie Frantel; sister-in-law, Lorraine Hoffmaster of Batavia, along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Michael Macaluso Jr. and Samuel Macaluso in 2009, along with his eight siblings, Peter, James, Anthony, Ross, Samuel, Joseph, Agnes and Josephine.

Charles I. "Chuck" Farraro, age 38, of Warsaw, died on Wednesday September 16, 2015 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born in Dansville, New York on September 6, 1977 a son of Ignatius Farraro of Arkport and Christine Wrisley of Batavia.

Chuck had worked for Wick Farms in Warsaw. He loved the San Francisco 49ers.

He is survived  his son Jaacob Farraro of Wyoming; sister Christine (Shawn) Schroeder of Short Tract; maternal grandfather Richard Bennett of Springwater, along with many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Oakfield - Kenneth M. Mullen, 85, of Oakfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 16^th, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Mullen was born July 4, 1930 in LeRoy, the son of the late Ralph and Emma Wilson Mullen. He is also predeceased by his step mother, Lulu Oles Mullen.

Mr. Mullen served with the United States Army from 1948-1953, serving in Germany. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant. A member of the Hirum G. Luhman American Legion Post No. 626, he was a member of Elba Baptist Church and a former member of the Elba Fire Department and Oakfield Fire Department.

He served with the Oakfield Village Board from May, 1963 thru April, 1971. He served on the Town Board of Oakfield from January, 1978 thru December, 1995. He served as the chairman of the Town of Oakfield Republicans and he served with the Genesee County Republican Committee.

Upon his discharge from the Army, he delivered milk for the former Elland Dairy in Oakfield and the former Oakfield Farms Dairy. He served as the Deputy Clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles from October 14, 1980 thru December 29, 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Speed Mullen, whom  he married June 14, 1952; his children,  Stephen Kenneth (Crystal Hawley) Mullen of Batavia, Deborah (Alan) Dennis and John (Lisa) Mullen, both of Oakfield; ten grandchildren, Kristin (Ronald), Sandra, Brenden, Stephen, Kate (Dan), Todd (Megan), Tom, Krystal (Khammay), Danielle (Aaron) and Hannah and fourteen great-grandchildren.

James M. “Jim” Zak, 74, of Attica passed away Tuesday September 15, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital. om  Ho He was born September 14, 1941 in Batavia, New York to the late Michael (Agnes Pelton) Zak.

Jim worked as a carpenter since he was 19 working on many houses in the Attica and surrounding areas. He played softball for several years and loved playing sports with his grandchildren. He cheered on his Bills and Sabres and liked any team that beat the Yankees.

He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia L. (Krager) Zak; children Joe (Shalyn) Zak of Attica, Jessica (Bob) Caplick of Orangeville; brother Tom Zak of Attica, sisters Mary (Rick) Smith of Batavia, Elaine Zak of Attica, Becky (Phil) Walker of Warsaw; grandchildren Joe, Jetta and Alyssa; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Ti-Bear.

LeRoy - Gail I. Lecain, 78, of LeRoy, passed away Thursday, (September 10, 2015) at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Ms. Lecain was born August 15, 1937 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Emmett and Doris (Sanford) Gaskin.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Cottrell of Fairport; grandchildren, Alexander Guerra of Rochester, Allegra Guerra of Fairport, Chelsea Guerra of Rochester, and Madison Cottrell of Fairport.  Five great-grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Gaskin.

Mary Robutka, 97, a native of Batavia known to her friends as “Midge” passed away September 8, 2015 in El Cajon/Cottonwood Caynon Health Care Center, California. She was born in Batavia February 9, 1918 to the late James R. (Louisa Scammaca) Mocciaro. She is preceded in death by her husband Peter J. Robutka, who passed away October 11, 1984; son Peter J. Robutka who passed away April 5, 2005 at age 51; brothers Harry (Rosario) Sando Mocciaro, Anthony, Ralph, Salvatore, and Lewis Mocciaro; sisters Partina Dixon, and Margaret Bevin

Mary was a member of St. John of The Cross Church in Lemon Grove, CA. She served as Adult Funeral Acolytes. Mary taught CCD classes and was a teacher aide at Merry Go-round Nursery School in Lemon Grove. Mary loved her faith, every morning she would walk 1.5 miles into town to attend mass, and then back home. Her back yard had red and white poinsettia trees and two different varieties of fig trees. Each year she would make fig jam preserves and dry them to share with family and friends to make homemade fig bars.  While living in California, Mary’s heart was always in Batavia.

Surviving are her son, John L.  (Cindy) Robutka of Texas; grandchildren Michael, William, Christine, Dustin (Amanda) and Bobbie Jo Robutka and Angeline Headlee; great grandchildren Kaytlyn, Ellie, Chaz, Caileigh and Madisyn; sisters Rose Marino of CA, Nicollette Ozzimo of Las Vegas, Caroline (Cas) Maliszewski, Josephine (Robert) Colombo and Anita Dziekan all of Batavia; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

JOSEPH J. VERSAGE

   Age 80, of Batavia, died peacefully Tuesday September 8, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born in Mt. Morris, NY on March 24, 1935, to the late Dominic and Jennie (Sciarrino) Versage, also preceded in death by brothers, Frank R., Anthony; sister-in-law, Beverly Williams; nephews, Michael Versage and Ryan Able.

   Mr. Versage was a United States Army Veteran, an accomplished musician and a sports fanatic who enjoyed softball, soccer, and hockey. Joe was a guidance counselor for over 30 years with the Rochester City School District. A gentle soul, who will be remembered as a wonderful husband, caring father and grandfather.

   Surviving is his beloved wife, Bonnie (Sobczak) Versage of Batavia; loving children, Joseph (Stephanie) Versage of Conesus and their children, Kristen, Justin, Colin and Adrian; John (Theresa) Versage of Batavia and their children, Kara, Dylan and Mason; Stacy (Mark) Marzello of Cheektowaga and their daughter, Arianna; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Lorraine) Williams of Batavia; sister-in-law, Rebecca Versage of Watertown; nieces, Michelle Williams and Laurie Comer both of Batavia and Teal Able of Watertown; special friend, Katie Viele, who could always make Joe "smile" along with several great nieces and great nephews.

Batavia - Willis J. Neth, Jr., 93, of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center after having been admitted earlier that day.

Mr. Neth was born May 7, 1922 in Batavia, a son of the late Willis J. Sr. and Josephine Murdock Neth.

Captain Neth had a distinguished military career having entered the United States Navy January 3, 1943 until his retirement on May 7, 1982.  Having an intense interest in aviation he graduated from flight training school in 1944, receiving his “wings” as pilot.  During World War II, he flew combat air patrols around Tokyo Bay.  After the war ended he returned home in 1946 he immediately joined the Naval Air Reserve.

Upon his return to Batavia he partnered with Bill Morith and operated Charles Men Shop from 1951 until his retirement in 1985.  He was very active in the Batavia Rotary Club as a Director, Paul Harris Fellow and incredible 36 year tenure of never missing a meeting. As well, he is a lifelong member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s Church), member for many years of Stafford Country Club and belonged to the “QBs”, an organization of former military pilots.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Forsyth Neth, whom he married June 30, 1947; his son, Willis (Kathleen) J. Neth III of Conneticut; his daughter, Pamela (Gary) Barrack of Beacon, New York; three grandchildren, Willis J. Neth IV, Amy Neth and John (Christine) Barrack and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia.  Burial with full military honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Buster J. West, 73, of Batavia passed away on Saturday September 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 3, 1942 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Sammie (Mattie Gromer) West.  He is preceded in death by his brother Samuel “Pee Wee” West

Buster worked for Hansen in Lime Rock. He loved cats and enjoyed fishing. Buster liked to watch golf, wrestling and football. He was a hard worker and he loved to laugh. Buster would give the shirt off his back and could light up a room with his smile, and he loved his family, was a wonderful father and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his daughter Shana Williams; son Arthur J. Fegain; brothers G.L. Trice, Jim Trice, John (Ida Bell) Bogan Jr., Oscar (Lillian) Trice and sister  Lois West.

As per his request ther will be no prior calling hours or Funeral Services. He will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery.
