Beulah A. Burrows, of Stafford­, NY passed on August 7th, 2016 at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family, at the Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw. Beulah was born on September 10, 1921 in Pike, NY to Stanley and Bessie (Davis) Waite. She is predeceased by her husband Paul A. Burrows her longtime companion Herb McCaffery, (Luke’s Companion Betty Palmer), sons in law Douglas Ernst and Albert Lyons, her siblings Elsie (Wayne) Pendergast, Geraldine (Willis) Hopkins, Velma (Howard) Cleveland, Norman & Elmer Waite. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Lyons, of LeRoy, son Paul “Luke” Burrows of Warsaw, 4 Grandchildren Lance Burrows of Japan, Leonard Burrows of California, Larry (Tawnee) Burrows of Texas, and Jason Ernst of Stafford, 4 great grandchildren and the McCaffery grandchildren, sisters in law; Dorothy Waite Kelly, Julia Waite Straub & Mary Burrows. 
She retired from the Batavia VA in 1987. Beulah had a zest for life. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and wintered in Texas and Florida for many years. She enjoyed storytelling and having fun with her family and friends. Her favorite place and fondest memories will always be the time she spent on her “Pike Island” in The Thousand Islands.

Frederick W. Roll III, 60, passed away on August 3, 2016 at his home in Attica surrounded by his family. He was born in Buffalo to the late Frederick Roll II and Marianne (Schnell) Roll. He is predeceased by his wife Shelly Roll and brother Dennis Curry.

Fred grew up on Bailey in Cowlesville. He attended Attica school, GCC, and UB. He joined the US Army in the 70's and was a Tank Turret Repairmen, serving for 2 years. He was honorably discharged with a Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Marksman Badge.  He was very hard worker and there wasn't anything he couldn't do.  He had an amazing girlfriend of 14yrs Patrice Scroger. Who has two sons Tim and Jim. They were his extended family and he loved them as his own. He always had a smile and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by his significant other Patrice Scroger of Attica; step mother Genevieve Curry; children Frederick (Sarah) Roll IV of Warsaw, Howard Roll of Oakfield and Gail (Jason) Roll-Thompson of Attica; siblings Gary and Michael Degroot of Cowlesville, Dave (Deb) Curry and Louis (Cathy) Curry both of Portageville, Earl (Darlene) Roll of GA, William (Jen) Roll, Nathan (Julie) Degroot and Rodney (Stephanie) Degroot both of Cowlesville, Bernadette Roll of Newstead, Chuck (Sandy) Curry and Karl Curry of NC; grandchildren Haley, Alexa, Kaleb, Clayton, Fiona and Hazel.

Batavia - Eric Fairbanks, 37, of Batavia, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Eric was born July 5, 1979 in Batavia, a son of Lester Fairbanks of Batavia and Judy Schoenthal Sanders of Batavia.

An avid fan of the New York Yankees, he loved spending time with his family; especially his nieces and nephews.

Surviving along with his parents are three brothers; Jeremy (Leah Kelly) Fairbanks of Batavia, Todd (Mary) Fairbanks of Bergen, and Brad Fairbanks of Batavia; grandparents, Lowell J. (late Elaine) Fairbanks of Batavia and Edwin (Sally) Schoenthal, both of Batavia; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours for Eric will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Dr. Gary E. Krolikowski, age 63, of Castile passed away on Friday August 5, 2016 at his home. He was born in Warsaw, New York on May 14, 1953 a son of the late Theodore F. Krolikowski and Adele (Wojtowicz) Krolikowski of Perry.  

Gary was a 1971 graduate of Perry High School, University of Potsdam, he received his masters degree at University of St. Lawrence and Northeastern University and his doctorate in Psychology at the University of Phoenix. He taught Psychology at Genesee Community College, Monroe Community College, Nazareth College, Rochester Institute of Technology, SUNY Brockport and retired from SUNY Geneseo. He received several recognitions through Who’s Who for his teaching of Psychology. He was a Co-author in a book in Psychology. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church (St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish in Perry and a member of the National Diabetes Association. He enjoyed boating, cooking, canning, gardening, watching TV and walking the family dog Laddie.

He is survived by his mother Adele (Wojtowicz) Krolikowski; brother Robert Krolikowski of Troy; Aunt Betty Wojtowicz, along with many cousins and friends.

Paul Jerome Burns, 91 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Thursday (August 4, 2016) at Rochester General Hospital, with his family by his side.

He was born April 13, 1925 in Batavia, a son of the late Robert and Catherine (Fines) Burns.

After graduating from Batavia High School, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He stayed stateside during that time and was stationed as an aviation ordnance specialist at several bases throughout the country. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for Bell and Howard, United Airlines, and finally at Bluebird/Empire Trailways Transportation (Rochester) for 33 years. During his career at Trailways, he worked as a charter bus driver and charter director working with groups ranging from the Boy Scouts of America, Rochester Americans Hockey, Kodak and the Buffalo Bills. After a career he loved in transportation, he retired as safety director of Trailways. As a bus driver, he logged over a million miles of travel across the United States and Canada. When not working, he traveled with his family and friends every chance he could. He was a member of the Glenn S. Loomis Post American Legion in Batavia and was a parishioner of Resurrection Parish. Paul enjoyed golfing, fishing and motorcycling in his younger years. Most of all he enjoyed his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Niedzialek Burns of Batavia. Daughter, Sandra J. Niedzialek – Burns of Dansville, NY. Son, Paul J. (Cheryl) Burns Jr. of Tucson, AZ. Grandchildren, Kristen (Joseph) Balonek of Rochester, Jaime (Carl) Catlin of Chittenago, NY, Benjamin Seekins of Batavia and Eleanor Kidder of Tucson, AZ. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Neil Burns, William Burns and Robert Burns.

Oakfield - John David Sisson, Sr., 66, of Oakfield, a welder and employee for 41 years at Dresser Rand in Olean, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his home, in Oakfield.

Mr. Sisson was born May 26, 1950 in Weston, WV, a son of the late George Edward and Bernadine (Hull) Sisson.

He served his country in Vietnam with the Marine Corp from 1968 to 1969.  He was former member of the American Legion in Allegany, NY and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Survivors include a son, John David Sisson, Jr. (Peggy Baine) of FL; a daughter, Tari Wilkosz of Oakfield; 2 grandchildren, Stevie Wilkosz and Frank Presicci, both of Oakfield; 3 sisters, Vonda Sisson of TN, Sandra West of Painted Post, and Anna Bressan of PA; a niece Shana Sisson; 2 nephews, Peter Caya and Mark Sisson. 

He was the father of the late Jason Duane Bradt and brother of the late George E. Sisson and Sharon Caya.

Friends may attend graveside services at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Cecelia's Cemetery located behind St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecelia's Church, 56 Maple Ave. in Oakfield.   Mark A. Nestor, 73 of Batavia passed away on Thursday August 4, 2016 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born on November 6, 1942 in Pittsburg, PA to the late James Nestor and Elsie (Johnson) Nestor. He is preceded in death by siblings Dennis Nestor and Janice Meinel.

Mr. Nestor was a United States Navy Veteran and served admirably in Vietnam. He enjoyed playing tennis, music and was an avid card player. Mark was a car enthusiast and loved Saab’s. He was above all else a family man and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Catherine (Macheda) Nestor of Batavia; daughters Marie (Tom) Martell of Oakfield; Jennifer (Paul) Ko of Princeton, NJ; sister Loretta Branciforte of Batavia; 4 grandchildren Olivia and Dylan Ko, Sophia and Malena Martell, along with several nieces and nephews.

Robert D. “Bob” Blew, 82 of Basom passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday August 4, 2016 at Medina Memorial Hospital. He was born September 30, 1933 in Indian Lake, NY to the late Robert “Bill” (Dorothy King) Blew. Mr. Blew is preceded death by a daughter-in-law Patricia Blew, his brothers Harold and Bernard Blew.

Mr. Blew was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish, NYS Farm Equipment Dealers Association, NYS Christmas Tree Growers Association, and the National Camel Club. Bob graduated from Alfred Ag & Tech with a degree in Agricultural Engineering, and was a member of Gama Theta Gama Fraternity. He owned and operated Blew Equipment, Inc. in Akron and the family farm Golden Blew Acres where they focused mainly on Christmas Trees and Exotic Animals. Bob loved caring for all of the animals but his greatest love was being in the company of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Rebecca V. (Simpson) Blew of Basom; children Terry (Barbara) Blew of Alabama, NY; Larry (Fiancé Elnora) Blew of Nyack, NY; Sherry (Bob) Valvo, Merry (Henry) Stachowski both of Batavia; Garry (Charise) Blew of Alabama, NY; 19 grandchildren Brooke (Eric) Mann, Justin (Yvette) Blew, Nathan (Michelle) Blew, Annie (Brennan) Morrison, Daniel Blew, Stephanie (John) Gianidda, Geoffrey (Andrea) Blew, Samantha (Fiancé Taylor) Valvo, Courtney (Joey) Baker, Joseph Stachowski, Ashley Stachowski, Anthony, Jacob, and Zachary Blew, Brandon (Samantha) Hall, Kyle Hall, Dominic (Vanessa) Anastasia, Derek (Fiancé Sarah) Harris, and Chanice Harris; 19 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Longtime Western New York Horseman, David A. Spaziano, of Rochester, New York, died on July 25, 2016 at age 76.

According to his family, “If we had to sum up David's life in one picture, this one says it all. Horses and horse racing were his heart and soul.”

His last driving win came at Buffalo Raceway on November 12, 1997 behind Handsome Boy.

David is predeceased by Ida & Anthony Spaziano. David is survived by: daughters Laurie, Layna and Michelle; (former spouse Ann Marie Spaziano); son David (companion Gloria Jean Ricci); grandchildren Frankie, Michael, Shane and Kendra; sister Dolores (Lee) Capomaccio; and brother Al (Elaine) Spaziano.

Gordon A. Gluck, 90, of Batavia passed away on Sunday July 31, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Batavia on October 15, 1925 to the late Fred and Hazel (Greene) Gluck. He is predeceased by his wife Naomi (Roth) Gluck.

Gordon was a United States Army WWII Veteran. He and his wife spent the winters in Myrtle Beach for over 50 years prior to her passing in 2013. He lived life on his own terms and tried to live everyday to its fullest.

He is survived by his children; Steven Gluck of Charlotte, NC. Thomas (Laura) Gluck of Odessa, Fl. and Cheryl (Donald) Little of Churchville, MD; siblings David (Joanne) Gluck of North Ft. Myers, FL, Paul (Lorraine) Gluck of Batavia, Alma (Burt) Sliker of Bradenton, FL., and Lorraine (William) Harris of Silver Springs, MD; grandchildren Sarah, Adam and Morgan Little; Jacob, Naomi, Jennifer and Heather Gluck.

Darien Center - Joseph Robert Corona, 71, passed away at the Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on Saturday, July 30, 2016.

He was born in Batavia on August 16, 1944, to Joseph and Lucy (DiSalvo) Corona.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Joan McDonald; three children, Joseph Corona (Spouse) of Batavia, Mark Corona of Darien Center and Nicole Corona (Derek) of N. Tonawanda; the light of his life, his grandson Kyle Sadlocha.  He is also survived by a sister, Florence (Nicholas) Pascucci of Stafford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister Joan (Nate) Mancuso and 2 brothers, Vincent (Carol) Corona and Patrick (Norma) Corona and a nephew Stephen Mancuso

Joe was a very proud Marine who served at numerous assignments, one of which was Seoul South Korea where his wife joined him.  After his discharge, he worked for the NYS Department of Corrections at Attica for 27 years. 

In his younger years, he earned his pilot's license and enjoyed flying with his father in their planes.  Another pastime as spent in his boat on Lake Ontario.  For the past 10 years, he and his wife spent their winters at their home in Ft. Myers, FL.

Friends may call from 10 to 11:45 am on Thursday at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 18 Ellicott Street in Batavia.  Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.

Kent/Batavia- Louise E. Cockram, 106, of Kent, a longtime Batavia resident and clerk at F.W. Woolworth Store in Rochester, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Orchard Manor Residential Health Care Facility, in Medina.

Mrs. Cockram was born August 28, 1909 in West Bergen, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Dilcher) Redinger.

She had attended the City Church and enjoyed crochet and playing the piano.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Roy Spencer who died in 1954 and her second husband, Francis Cockram, who died in 1995.

She was the mother of the late Margaret Acker, William Spencer and Elwin Spencer and sister of the late Andrew, Ernest, Harold, Frederick, Richard, Carl, Emma, and George Redinger and Helen Lacy.

Survivors include 2 step-sons, Robert Cockram of Lansing, NY and William (Janyce) Cockram of Kent, 3 step-daughters, Janet (Loren) Wetzel of Williamsville, Jean Edwards of Provo, UT and Helen Hill of Bergen; one beloved granddaughter, Evonne Spencer of Ramona, CA;, 15 step-grandchildren, 40 step-great grandchildren, several great-great and great-great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

PAULINE JOHNS

Age 86, of Oakfield, died peacefully Thursday afternoon July 28, 2016 at Home while under the care of Orleans Hospice and her loving family. She was born June 13, 1930 in Rochester, NY a daughter of the late Alex and Edna Marks, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Lester Johns; brothers, Alex, William and Charles Marks; sisters, Matilda Harvey, Marian Wielgosgynski, Dorothy Kraft, Ethel Kiehl and great-granddaughter, Julia Kay Cory. 

Pauline was a former member of the Oakfield Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. A former Zonta Club member she was very active in the Oakfield community being a member of the Oakfield Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, working for the Genesee County Election Committee and a volunteer on the first committee for Oakfield Labor Daze, now an annual tradition. She enjoyed her flower gardens, playing cards and home in Florida but nearest her heart was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Surviving is her beloved children, Robert (Tammy) Brion of Middleport, James (Susan) Brion, Gregory Johns, Linda (Raymond) Smith all of Oakfield, Lizabeth (Lyle) Starkweather of Basom, Barbara (Jim Anderson) Rose of Port Charlotte, FL and Leslie (Richard) Stauss of Oakfield; brother, Robert Marks of IL; sister, Margaret Warner of Geneseo; daughter-in-law, Kay Brion of Oakfield; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

DOROTHY J. LAVRINCIK

Age 74, of Darien Center, died peacefully Wednesday July 27, 2016 at her home under the care of Hospice and her family. She was born October 17, 1941 in Triangle, VA a daughter of the late Silas and Elizabeth (Horton) Grigsby also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karol Lavrincik, Sr. in 2014; brothers, Roy and Edward Grigsby. 

Mrs. Lavrincik was a long time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church and a lifelong homemaker. She will be remembered as a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

Surviving are her loving children, Karl (Deb) Lavrincik, Jr. of Warsaw, John (Ann) Lavrincik of Attica, Richard (Brenda) Lavrincik of Attica and Kathryn (Tom) Lukasik of Attica; brother, Robert Grigsby of VA; sister-in-law, Frances Szfarski of Darien; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. 

There is no prior visitation and the Lavrincik family invites all to celebrate in Dorothy's Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM Saturday July 30 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, a private burial for the family will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory are suggested to Wyoming County Hospice or the Bennington Volunteer Fire Department.
