  Donna Jean Forsyth, age 66 of Perry, NY passed away on Monday September 6, 2021 at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo. She was born on December 12, 1954 in Warsaw, NY, a daughter of the late Wayne F. and Onalee G. (Clark) Beeman. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a sister-in-law;Cheryl Beeman.

Donna was a 1972 graduate of Perry Central School. She worked for the former Perry Minimart and Champion Products where she was a supervisor. She currently was working at Tops Market in Warsaw as an office manager. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Perry Center and a former volunteer for the Perry Emergency Ambulance. She enjoyed reading books and doing ceramics. Family was the highlight of her life especially her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Michael, children: Julie (Shannon Illerbrun) Aaron of Castile, Jeffrey (Tina) Aaron of Warsaw, step-son: Mark Forsyth of Batavia, brother: Gary Beeman of Genoa, Ill., 9 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jonathan and Janeen Young, Brooke (Robert Hall) Allard, Nathaniel (Autumn Scott) Barnes, Bryce and Briana Allard, Emily and Donavyn Aaron, 7 great grandchildren: Logan and Levi Young, Kiersten and Kameron Scott, Derek, Jaxson and Avery Hall, along with many nieces, nephews and friends

  Brian Arnold Colopy went to be with the lord on August 28th 2021 in Waco, TX at the age of 39. Brian was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Melvin and Mary Colopy and Fred Wehling.

Brian was born October 18th 1981 in Batavia, New York to Arnold and Elaine Colopy. He was a graduate of Oakfield – Alabama High school in 2001. Shortly after graduating, Brian moved to Houston, TX to follow his passion of becoming a funeral director. He accomplished his goal December 16th, 2012, where he graduated from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, TX, with his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service. Brian was a very special part of our family here at McNutt Funeral Home. He enjoyed serving the community of Lufkin, TX while also being a proud member of the Lufkin Rotary Club in his free time. Brian was the gold standard for funeral directors; he was very patient and caring with families, which was something he took great pride in. Although Brian was from New York, he was a tried-and-true Texan. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving girlfriend Christine Caballero, his parents Arnold and Elaine Colopy; his brothers Timothy and Samuel Colopy; his sisters Amanda and Clara Colopy. His long time best friend’s Chrissy McRae-Smith, Todd and Julie Liem. He is also survived by his very caring and loving grandmother Betty Wehling, who he loved dearly.

  Lesa J Stockschlaeder, 61, of Attica passed away suddenly on Monday (September 6, 2021). She was born May 8, 1960 in Batavia, daughter of the late Theodore (Teddy) and Alice Schrieber Willard.

Lesa was a fun loving soul; traveling and camping when she could.  Her heart was always in the sands of a beach.  She traveled extensively to Florida to enjoy the warm sands and the ocean and shared that experience with her close friends.  Lesa also enjoyed playing cards with her friends during the winter.  She also loved spending time with her grandson and going to his sporting events. Lesa also volunteered in the Attica Fire Department from September 1984 until 2007.  She was also an 18-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 734.

Lesa is survived by her partner for 13yrs Leo Geitner III, her brother Robert (Catherine) Willard of Attica, son Alex (Skylair) Stockschlaeder and grandson Aiden.  She also has two nieces and two nephews.

There will be a private burial at Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica next to her infant sister Alison (deceased Feb 1966). Please join us for a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Post 734 in Attica on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1pm to 5pm.

Linford V. "Lin" Gamin of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully Tuesday, (September 7, 2021) at Alzheimers Luxury Care Facility in Las Vegas.

Lin was born April 28, 1942 in Batavia, a son of the late Vernon L. and Gladys A. (Brewer) Gamin.

A retired United States Marine Corps Veteran, he proudly served his country in Vietnam.

He is predeceased by his sisters Grace M. Allen and Bonnie L. Neindorf, and by his grandmother Julia D. Gamin.

Survivors include his two children, Michelle and Teresa and grandson, Dylan, all of North Carolina; his sister, Loretta "Lori" Gamin of Batavia; Nephews, Scott (Sandy) Allen of Basom and Fred (Joellen) Neindorf of Arkansas; Nieces, Sheri Allen of Batavia and Wendy (Terry) Allen-Thompson of Basom; Great-Nephew, Tucker (Susanna) Allen of Basom and Bekki (fiance Danny) Allen of Basom. Long time Best Friend Mike Warner of East Bethany and Life-Long Friend/Cousin, Marilyn Masters of Alaska, one Aunt and many cousins.

Gladys E. Worthington, 89 of Bergen, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. She was born January 14, 1932 in Alexander to the late Lewis and Cordelia (Goodman) Wight. She is predeceased by her husband Roy J. Worthington, four brothers, Elmer, Leon, Carlton and Wallace.

Mrs. Worthington worked for many years at Alexander Central School. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Williamsville and Sweet Adeline’s Group. Mrs. Worthington loved her flowers and spending time at the family cottage they had on the St. Lawrence River. Her family was the most important part of her life.

Mrs. Worthington is survived by her beloved children, Nancy Worthington of Ceresco, MI, Thomas (Miriam) Worthington of Jay, NY, Stefan (Marlene) Worthington of Alexander, siblings, Winifred Beats of FL, Loren (Bernice) Wight of Bergen, Marian Worthington of Batavia, Shirley (Gary) Goetz of FL, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

  Troy B Vereecken, 53, of Bergen, (formerly Elba) NY passed away June 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family, friends and his endless record collection playing.
Troy was born November 11, 1967 to Sue & Brian Vereecken. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Seefeldt & father Brian Vereecken.

A 1985 graduate of Elba High School, Troy was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills & the NY Yankees. He absolutely loved to hunt and spending time with his hunting crew. Troy was an amazing cook & baker and would enjoy discussing his BBQ & smoking techniques with his brother-in-law Rick. He leaves behind several very close & amazing friends: Jane & Kris Petote, Donny (Lori) Wray, Frank (Lisa) Penna & Mark (Carol) Benz, who's endless visits, euchre playing and watching cooking shows kept Troy going and laughter in the house.

Troy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Denise (Tracy) Vereecken and his children: Jennifer (Isaiah Mapp) Vereecken formerly of Los Angeles California, Caitlin (Emily) Vereecken of Rochester and Alexander Vereecken of Bergen.

Ray A. Waters, 58 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday (September 5, 2021) at his residence under the loving care of his family.

He was born January 4, 1963 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Stanley and Joan Eveleigh Waters.

He is predeceased by his sister, Amy Guthrie; brother, Dusty Waters and canine friend, Lucy.

Ray and his family moved from Watertown to Batavia when he was a young child and graduated from Batavia High School. He then served his country with the U.S. Navy for eleven years. He currently was employed by Byron Bergen Central School District where he worked in the building maintenance department for several years. Ray was an avid Buffalo Sabres fan as him and his wife were season ticket holders, looking for that breakout year.

Most of all, Ray will be remembered for his generosity. Whether it be for his family, friends or neighbors, he was always looking to help others. Always going all out for someone else if it was just to put a smile on their face. Ray was known in his neighborhood for having the most extravagant lighting display for Halloween and Christmas and looking to make the next year bigger and better.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His huge heart, expertise of exterior illumination and laughter will be truly missed by all who knew this great man.

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane T. Waters of Batavia, Son, Matthew Waters of Dallas, TX. Daughter, Samantha (Brandon) Hall of Elba. Grandsons, Gavin, Jaxon and Corbin Hall. Sister, Cindy Ciszkowski of Blasdell. Brothers, Mark (Jennifer) Waters, Lance (Margaret) Waters and Andrew (Janet) Waters, all of Florida. Ray is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family members from England and the “Queen of the House”, Prudence.

  Ralph D Parise, Jr, 85, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, December 16th. He was the husband of Joan (Meyers). Ralph and Joan were married on June 28th, 1958, celebrating 62 years of marriage. He was born in Alexander on May 20th, 1935, son of the late Ralph and Mary Avino Parise.

In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by five children, Mary Joan (Jeff) Martin, Helen (Mark) Dickinson, John Parise, Paul Parise and Kathleen (Doug) Boje. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Eric Martin, Joey Dickinson, Elaina Dickinson, Nicholas Martin, Zach Boje and Anna Boje.

Also surviving are sisters, Jovanna (Russell) Pieri, Mary (the late Joseph) Marchese and Amelia (the late Gerald) Sheelar, and several nieces and nephews.

Ralph was predeceased by siblings Frances (Joseph) Cirillo, Carmen (Mary)Parise and Samuel (Patricia) Parise. He was the son-in-law of the late John and Cecilia Meyers. He was also predeceased by several sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Asher Borton, Walter and Virginia Meyers, Ann and Gerard Buckenmeyer, Maryknoll Seminarian Jack Meyers and Helen Meyers.

Ralph graduated from Alexander Central in 1953. He volunteered for the Korean War (1954-56). After his service, Ralph was sole proprietor of Parise’s Gas For Less where he started AAA Emergency Towing in Genesee County. He retired at the age of 50 in 1986. After retirement, Ralph enjoyed coaching basketball for the Alexander Central School’s 8th grade boys basketball team. Ralph was a member of Resurrection Parish, earlier serving as an usher for St. Anthony’s Church. He was a 3rd Degree Msgr. Kirby Council Knights of Columbus member. He was also a member of the American Legion Genesee Veterans Club.

Marie Florence Wynings, 97, of Corfu, NY passed away on September 4, 2021.

Born December 8, 1923 to the late Bennie and Anna Swanson. Predeceased by husbands Frank Price, Kenneth Perry, and Carl Wynings.
Marie was a loving and kind woman who loved to care for others, be them her children, grandchildren, neighbors, or friends. She was an excellent cook, and loved to crochet; nearly everyone she knew may have received a colorful, handmade afghan from her.

Mother of Jean Marie (predeceased), James Perry (Linda), and Karen Perry (Keith). Survived by grandchildren Scott (Lynn), Anne Marie (Bill), Julie (Joey), Daniel (Jennifer), Erin (Matthew), Ryan (Jamie), Jackson (Sam), Breanna (Collin), David (Sarah), and Danny (Annie, predeceased) along with 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa J. Seweryniak, 85, of Batavia passed away peacefully, on September 5, 2021. Theresa was born on February 22, 1936 to Joseph and Stella Gomula Koziol in Batavia. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Raymond H. Seweryniak, who passed away in 2019, and brothers Edward and Joseph (Sue) Koziol.

She graduated from BHS in 1953, and earned a registered nursing degree with honors in 1956 from University of Buffalo Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. She served at Genesee Memorial and UMMC as head nurse and obstetrical supervisor where she was instrumental in starting a Prenatal Clinic. She served as a member on the Nursing Advisory Board at Genesee Community College. Theresa was a 4H leader for many years and was an accomplished crafter in needlework of all kinds, producing clothes, quilts and many china painted articles. She was also an avid gardener, cook and baker.

Theresa is survived by sons; Mark (Sue) Seweryniak of Batavia, David (Kathy) Seweryniak of Corfu, daughters; Susan (Kevin) Geer of Hamlin and Kay Bush of Batavia, along with 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters Ann Stevens of West Seneca and Josie Sarac of Cheektowaga, brother-in-law Leon Seweryniak of Corfu and many nieces and nephews.

Linda L. Sprague, 75 of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday (September 1, 2021) at Rochester General Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1946 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Bernard and Lorraine Murphy Hoffman.

Linda was a hard worker, always willing to drop what she was doing to come help whenever needed.  She was a devout Christian and loved to sit in fellowship with family and friends. She was generous with her time and knowledge about many things. She loved to teach people new things. She loved to travel, but also loved to be a homebody. In Gracie’s words: “She sure lived a full life!” Mom’s strength and love will live on through each of us.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Laura Kreutter and brother, Charles Hoffman.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (Matthew Payne) Logsdon. Sons, Nathan (Jacqueline) Kreutter and Andrew (Kari) Kreutter. Sister, Sue (Mike) Shrader. Grandchildren, CJ (Mary Kay) Kreutter, Brittany (fiance, Cody Draper) Kreutter, Amber Kreutter, Zoey Kreutter, Alex and Andy Kreutter, Kelly Kreutter, Eijah Logsdon and Grace Logsdon. Great-granddaughter, Delilah Proefrock and honorary grandson, Jacob Blanc. Sister in-law, Phyllis Hoffman. Also survived by a niece and nephews.

Olivia Faith Maniace ( Liv, Livvy Lou) 22 of Batavia passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic with her loving family and devoted boyfriend by her side. She was born on February 10, 1999 in Batavia, NY to David Maniace and Susan (Scott) Maniace.

Olivia was a pint size ball of fire. She was the perfect blend of love, compassion, wit and sarcasm. She was a true warrior that inspired many. Olivia battled Cystic Fibrosis her entire life, received a double lung transplant in 2019 and battled post-transplant lymphoma twice. Though she endured so much in her short life, she never stopped smiling and giving to others facing challenges. Her⁹ love of life and God was infectious. Olivia managed to capture hearts in all aspects of her life, including her amazing caretakers.

Olivia loved her family fiercely, whether it was camping, playing games or boating. She loved her dog Stella and hoped to train her as a support dog.

Olivia was very active in the Cystic Fibrosis community mentoring and offering support to fellow CFers across the country. In 2018 Olivia formed her charity  Liv Luv Breathe Care packages. These packages were made with love to offer comfort and inspiration to other girls ages 13-19 facing chronic illness. On her darkest days she was still thinking of bringing light to others. 

Though her battle was immense, Olivia never stopped inspiring others. Her faith was unwavering and her biggest accomplishment was that her journey brought everyone closer to God. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by, along with her parents, a brother Kyle Maniace (Shauna Rehar), her boyfriend Joey Raziano, many aunts, uncles, cousins and her precious puppy Stella.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 4-6 pm Monday September 6, 2021at Northgate Free Methodist Church 8160 Bank St. Rd. Batavia. A Celebration of Life will also be held at Northgate at 11am on Tuesday September 7, 2021.

Margaret C. Palmer, 82 of Batavia, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 2, 2021 with her family by her side. Margaret was born June 28th, 1939 to Theobald and Celestine Cruess in Olean, New York.

Margaret enjoyed traveling with her husband, Anthony. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. Margaret’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Her second favorite was playing the slots!

Faith was very important to Margaret, shown by her dedication as a Eucharistic minister, her time at crossroads house, and her decades of commitment to Notre Dame high school.  Margaret not only sent her 9 children to Notre Dame but she was also the best bingo caller Notre Dame has ever seen.

Margaret is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Anthony Palmer and her 9 children; Theresa (John) Sisson, Angela (Ken) Darch, Joe (Dawn) Palmer, Ann (Ken) Rudman, Mary (Michael) Francis, Eileen Wilcox, Dan (Karla) Palmer, Katie Palmer and Ryan (Jillian) Palmer, brother Kevin (Cathy) Cruess, 22 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Edward Dean Gorton, Jr. (Ted) passed away in Venice, Florida on August 2nd, 2021, from cancer and Covid (Delta), four days before his 96th birthday. Ted was born in Batavia, New York, August 6th,1925, to Edward Dean Gorton Sr. and Kathryn Mae Lucid. He was the youngest of four siblings: Frances Mary, James Edward, and Joan Celia. Ted joined the navy as a member of the occupational force in Japan at the end of WW2. He again saw action in the Korean War where he served as a 2nd lieutenant on the aircraft carrier, the USS Ticonderoga. After service he graduated from Colgate University and Purdue University with degrees in Business and Economics. Ted joined the Naval reserve where he served for several decades in Naval Intelligence, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Ted started his career at Scott & Bean in Batavia and rapidly progressed with Eaton Yale and Towne, Wheelabrator Equipment and Machine, and Geneva Business Brokers. Ted ended his career at age 75 as a business consultant and accountant in South Bend, Indiana. Ted, along with his wife of 56 years, Patricia Gorton, spent the last 25 living in Venice, FL. Together they traveled extensively throughout the US, all the seven seas, every major continent except Antarctica, and so many countries that they lost count. Ted worked and lived in Santa Barbara, CA, San Mateo, CA, South Bend, IN, and Venice, FL. As a private pilot Ted amassed over 12,000 hours flying Bonanzas and other vintage aircraft throughout his 70 years of flying. As for golf, no matter how aged or slow he swung his clubs he always managed to beat his sons. Ted wrote a cookbook and played bridge monthly until the last weeks of his life. In every sense of the word, Ted was a proud member of the “Greatest Generation.”  

Family and friends alike would characterize Ted as an independent soul; he was extremely knowledgeable, having benefited from his diverse experiences and his prodigious reading; and it was fair to say he was financially frugal. Ted was predeceased by his wife Patricia Gorton ( in picture with Ted), his ex-wife and mother of his children, Barbara Cole, and his daughter Kathryn Mae (Tom) Thompson. He is survived by five children: Gloria Casey, Su Yates, and Ty (Bonnie), Jeff, and Mark (Sue) Gorton, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In honor of Ted and Pat Gorton, the family would like to thank the friends and neighbors of Waterford, giving special thanks to Jennifer (Physical Agility), Winona (Bright Day Care), Norman McClellan (American Legion), and Paul and the ‘Bridge Boys’; your continued kindnesses made this loving couple feel special, right up to the very end. Ted and Pat, Dad and Mom, Grandpa and Nana, you will be missed!  A memorial service for Ted and Pat will be held at 12:30pm, September 14th, at the Sarasota National Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life following the service.
