Edward G. Mosman

September 17, 1931 - April 5, 2025
Edward George Mosman “Ed”, 93 of Alden, passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born in Rochester, New York on September 17, 1931, to Lynford Mosman and Harriet Mosman (née Feister), Ed lived a quiet, humble life. Always quick with a joke, Ed was a family man who loved to share accomplishments with those he held dear. He was a member of Alden Central Bulldog’s six-man football team from 1947-1948.
He married the love of his life, W. Ann Campbell, in 1953. Ed was a graduate of Buffalo State College with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was best known for working at Wood’s Wallpaper and Paint in Lancaster. He built his family’s home in 1960, where he and his wife lived until his passing.
Ed belonged to many organizations, including Town Line Fire Department, Alden Campers and Hikers Association, and the Alden Historical Association. He was also a 55-year member of the Alden and Akron Masonic Lodge.
Every summer Ed could be found camping and exploring the Adirondacks with his family. He and his wife traveled in their retirement years to the Caribbean, Florida, Texas, California, Alaska, Hawaii, and to Lithuania for his grandson’s wedding.
Ed is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ann Mosman (née Campbell); daughter Cindy Zarcone; son Jim (wife Jennifer) Mosman; son Michael Mosman; grandchildren: Nicholas (Deimanté) Zarcone, Kimberly Hovey, Valerie (Daniel) Berger, Jessica (Jonathan) Grondin, and Jocelyn Mosman; great-grandchildren: Kyle Berger, Taylor and Madison Grondin, Arianna and Owen Hovey, Lucio and Laken Zarcone; sisters: Phyllis Koblick, Judy Prieto.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Lynford and Harriet Mosman; his sister, Vivian (late Alan) Kidder and his brother, Bill Mosman (late Mary); his brother-in-law David Prieto; and his son-in-law Vincent Zarcone.
He will be missed dearly by his family and his friends.
