Warsaw - Scott D. Sanders 41 of Warsaw, formerly of Medina, has come to rest after battling severe illness.

Scott was born May 28. 1981 in Batavia a son of the late Gary and Sandra (Kingdollar) Sanders.

Scott is survived by his girlfriend of 20 years Tracy Phillips, brother Coby (Stacey) Sanders, brother David Kendall, many Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.

Florence M. “Floss” Williman, 90, of Attica, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born March 9, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William and Marie (Kolb) White. She is preceded in death by her brother, William White and son-in-law, Mark Hopfinger.

Mrs. Williman was a woman of very strong faith and put her family first her entire life. She loved doing crafts; sewing, knitting and crocheting. Floss knitted personalized Christmas stockings and cross stitched birth announcements for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was known for her “Christmas Socks” too. She was very supportive of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always attending their school activities and sporting events. Floss loved to bake, many would say she made the best pies in the world. She went tent camping when her children were young and enjoyed the annual family vacation every summer in Long Beach Island, NJ.

Mrs. Williman taught preschool, was on the Genesee Valley BOCES Board, Attica Central School Board and served as President at one point. She chaperoned school band trips, loved to read, and stayed up late enough on Friday nights to watch Blue Bloods. Floss was a very active 54 year member of St.Paul’s UCC; including being a member of Women’s Fellowship and the handbell choir. She traveled to many places with her family; Hawaii, Colorado, Florida, Italy, Austria and a Panama Canal Cruise to name a few. Mrs. Williman participated in American Field Service and hosted an exchange “daughter” Pam from Argentina.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Rev. Charles F. Williman of Attica; children, David (Jude) Williman of Attica, Marie Lowe of Attica, Jean (Ralph) Wirth of Varysburg, Susan (David) McPherson of Varysburg, Ruth Hopfinger of Attica; sister Marian Brunn of Sellersville, PA, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend an 11:00am Celebration of Floss’s Life on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ 11 Washington St. Attica, NY 14011. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica.

Floretta T. Fenello, 93, of Batavia passed away peacefully on June 24, 2023 at Rochester General Hospital. She was born on May 29, 1930 in Batavia to the late Anthony and Jenny Feniello. In addition to her parents, Floretta is predeceased by her sisters; Mary Lazik and Anne Feniello.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. 

Floretta will be remembered as everybody’s Aunt, everyone caller her Aunt Fred. She was extremely generous. Floretta was a very religious woman who was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Church and Ascension Parish. She was an officer at the St. Michael Society; St. Jerome’s and was very involved with the International Peace Garden Association in Batavia and a founding member of The Friends of the Batavia Peace Garden. Floretta loved the Buffalo Bills, trips to the casino and was very proud of her Italian heritage.

Dennis H. Cashin, 71 of Attica, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Crossroads House in Batavia. He was born September 17, 1951 in Camden, NJ to the late Thomas and Jeanne (Scribner) Cashin. He is preceded in death by a brother Wayne Cashin.

Dennis graduated from Notre Dame High School in Batavia. He owned and operated Cashin Collision in Alexander. Dennis loved being outdoors on his property, listening to live music, especially Rock-n-Roll and tinkering. He was a very faithful man and loved his family very much. 

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (James Miller) Cashin of Rochester, granddaughter, Frances Miller of Rochester, brother, David (Joni) Cashin of Santa Cruz, CA; sister in law Kathy Cashin of Woodbury, CT; along with several nieces and nephews.

Joanna M. (nee Martino) of Batavia; entered into rest June 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late James E. Elba - Mrs. Barbara Jean Whyman Graham, age 88, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 23, 1934 in Batavia to Edward and Helen Bolt Whyman.

She was a graduate of Batavia High School. She worked at Doehler-Jarvis as a secretary and phone operator. Barbara also worked at Genesee-Wyoming BOCES as a secretary and Clerk of the Board of Education until her retirement in 1994. She was active in different organizations, her church and secretarial organizations around the state. Barbara was a member of the Elba Presbyterian Church.

On June 12, 1954, she married Michael Graham (deceased 1981) and had two children, Thomas and Susan. Thomas married Michele Seaburg. Their daughter Erin resides in Oakfield with Barbara's great-granddaughters, Hadley and Harper. Susan married Ronald Ramsey and resides in Huntingdon, Tennessee. They have triplet sons. Michael resides in Colorado. Matthew (Lauren Allen) is in the Air Force and is stationed in South Carolina with Barbara's great-granddaughter, Aria Gray. Daniel (Melissa Fleischman) resides in Rochester with Barbara's great-granddaughter, Adelyn Grace.

Barbara is also survived by her sister, Nancy (David) Post as well as many nieces and nephews.

JoLynn M. Gorski, 43 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Saturday (June 24, 2023) at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY.

She was born March 14, 1980 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of Randy and Barbara Loranty Gorski of Batavia.

JoLynn loved animals and graduated from Medaille University with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology.  Although she didn't practice she also had a cosmetology license.  

Surviving besides her parents is her daughter, Rebecca Gorski. Brother, Edward Gorski of Corfu. Sister, Nicole (Chris) Morasco of Batavia. Grandmother, Margaret Loranty of Attica and nieces and nephews, Sophia and Michael Gorski and Benjamin and Anna Morasco.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jerome Loranty and Wanda and Edward Gorski.

Batavia - Glenn R. Hilchey, age 86, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home in LeRoy.

Mr. Hilchey was born Sunday, March 14th, 1937 in Oakfield, New York a son of the late Charles "William" Hilchey and Amelda Clattenburg Hilchey.

Mr. Hilchey proudly served his country with the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he moved back to Oakfield where he worked various jobs until he found his calling as a welder/pipe-fitter at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York. He retired from Kodak after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed being outdoors at his home on Albion Road, tending his garden and numerous plants. He was also a talented painter and avid fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Hilchey of Batavia; his sons, Dr. Shannon (Rebecca) Hilchey of Rochester, New York and Dr. Sean (Nora) Hilchey of Piedmont, California; six grandchildren, Connor, Emily, Maxwell, Mirabel, Holden and Annabeth, along with several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Ralph Hilchey, Weldon Hilchey, Alvin Hilchey, Margaret Dennis and Audrey Reed.

There are no prior visiting hours. Dale A. Buck, 67 of Oakfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday (June 22, 2023) at Waterview Heights Nursing Facility in Rochester, NY.

He was born July 10, 1955 in Batavia, NY, a son of the late Walter Buck and Mary Palone Urtel.

Bucky’s passion for life, and success is something all admired about him. He worked so hard for everything he had, and built his own empire always helping all who needed it, never expecting anything in return. Dale loved his children and was an amazing father to them always. Easygoing, fun, caring, and compassionate were some of his best quality’s , and the reason he will be missed by all that had the pleasure  to know him. 

He is survived by a daughter, Shannon Smith of Rochester. Son, Dale Jr. (Brittany) Buck. Grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan Smith. Longtime companion and caregiver, Patricia Lacey of Oakfield and her family, Frances, Kelly, John and Cristina. Step-mother, Betty Buck.  Sisters, Janice (Tim) and Carrie (Randy) and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was predeceased by his siblings, Walter, Paul, Toni and Carol.

Kristopher Bow, 43, of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Attica, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 20, 2023. Kris was born December 18, 1979 to Ron Bow and Colleen Fox Bow in Batavia, NY. After Kris graduated from Attica High School he relocated to Vero Beach, FL where he pursued a wood working career. He loved to be on the water fishing, and loved taking walks with his furry companion, Teak. He loved riding his Harley and spending time with loved ones, especially his son Landen. 

Kris is predeceased by his mother, Colleen Fox Bow. He is survived by his son Landen, father Ron Bow, stepmom, Diane Bow, brother, Michael (Jennifer) Bow, sisters Kaylee (Matt Cole) Stoneham and Jessica (Chris) Minicucci, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

If you knew Kris or just met him, you would be drawn in by his charisma, contagious smile, and witty sense of humor. Kris had a wealth of knowledge on various subjects and was curious to learn all the time. Kris had a very generous heart and all who loved him are heartbroken over his passing. He will be missed dearly. 

Batavia - Josephine "Josie" Bordinaro VanValkenburg, 72, of Batavia, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with a rare autoimmune disease.

Josie was born August 10, 1950, daughter of the late Sam & Pauline (Crimando) Bordinaro. She is survived by Gary VanValkenburg, her devoted husband and caregiver; her children, Jessica (Alan) Stewart of Rochester, Jamie (Carah) Stewart of Powder Springs, GA, Joseph (Krystal) Stewart of Manchester, VT, Michelle (Marc) Johnson of Oakfield, and Orazio (Carla) Slivano of Augusta, GA. Her ten grandchildren (Bailey, Trevor, Zach, Cameron, Tanner, McKenna, Jaina, Brady, Payge, and Julien) and four great-grandchildren (Jay, Braxton, Valentina, and soon-to-arrive Harper) were the lights and smiles of her life. Also surviving is her brother, Sam Bordinaro Jr. of Massachusetts.

Josie retired from Lapp Insulator in Leroy, NY after a long career, while holding many various positions during her time there. Once retirement came, it was time for her and Gary to rekindle their love for each other, and for riding their Harley Davidsons together. Josie enjoyed many week-long road trips across the USA on her Harley, loving the freedom of the open road and wind in her face with Gary and her new HOG (Genesee County Harley Owners Group) family.

A devoted sports mom, she was at the ball field or hockey rink for all of the early morning practices, out-of-town tournaments, late night rides home, as well as always being the loudest one in the stands cheering you on win or loss, Josie was a dedicated and loving mother. Sundays were for family and watching her beloved team, the Buffalo Bills.

In keeping with Josie's wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest in Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke. Batavia - Richard K. Doell, 79 of Batavia passed away on Monday, (May 29, 2023) at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Batavia.

Mr. Doell was born December 25, 1943 in Batavia, a son of the late Gordon and Hazel (Rouse) Doell.

Rick was a religious man who often kept to himself. He could often be found behind the camera at family functions, watching a movie, or spending time with the children in the family - whom he was great with.

Surviving are his brother, Larry Doell of Rochester; and sister-in-law, Diane Doell of Darien Center. Nieces and nephews also survive.

In death he is reunited with his parents and brother, Carl Doell.

James Douglas Eby, current resident of Marco Island, Florida, and native of North Syracuse, New York, died suddenly on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the age of 72. He was the devoted husband of Deborah Bach Eby; dedicated father of Sarah C. Pyle (Jeremy), Justin James, Matthew Martin^†, Bethany Victoria, and Gabrielle Nicole; loving grandfather of Emily, Jacob, Austin, Jaxson, and Layla; dear brother of Theodore^†, Ronald, and Tricia; beloved brother-in-law of Cynthia Bach Wilson, many nieces and nephews and friend to many; son of the late Theodore and Louise (Neuman) Eby.

  James will be remembered for his quick wit, always having a movie or Seinfeld line for every situation! He loved teaching at RIT, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a lifelong love of learning and upon moving to FL completed his MBA and became a Master Gardner and a teacher of welding. He and Deborah loved living near the beach and sharing their bit of paradise with family and friends. James also found a way to continue playing ice hockey in Fort Myers but missed the Batavia Men’s Hockey League always (not the time spent in the penalty box though). Most importantly he was a wonderful husband, always putting Deborah first and foremost and an amazing dad and Opa who could “fix anything”. His family was the light of his life and he was ours. We will miss him deeply but know we are blessed to have had him in our lives.

     Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 27^th from 12 ~ 2 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy, NY, where James’ Service will be held at 2:00 P.M.  Immediately following, family and any wishing to accompany, will proceed to St. Francis Cemetery. A reception will take place at Le Roy Country Club beginning at 3:30. The family requests, in solidarity to James’ love of hockey, to dress if you wish in your favorite hockey apparel.

     James was a dedicated volunteer at an animal hospital in Naples where he advocated for pelicans, herons, and many other animals of Florida.
