Mary P. Dries

Mary P. Dries, age 88, formerly of Bergen and Edgewater, FL, passed away Sunday afternoon (March 30, 2025) at Strong Memorial Hospital.

     She was born April 18, 1936 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Ray and Edna Shore Parker.

   Mary will be remembered for her love of family and community.  Her grandchildren meant the world to her.  Mary was a dedicated and lovingly devoted nurse for 42 years at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, where she finished her career as a nurse manager.  She also established the Parish Nurse Ministry at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Batavia after retirement.

     She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Andrew H. Dries; her children, Elisa (David) Zinni, Linda (Johnny) Blair, Joseph (Laurel) Dries and estranged son, John (Leigh Ann) Dries; grandchildren, Nicholas Zinni, Joseph (Kayla) Zinni, David (Emma) Zinni, Joseph (Kylie) Dries Jr. and Arianna Blair; great-grandchildren, Leia Jane Zinni, Joseph Dries III and Elizabeth Dries; step-grandchildren, Breana, Ilylana and Jaxson; brothers in law, Rosario Nicosia and Alfred Dries; special family friend, Debbie Foster; cousin, John Parker; niece, Mary Nicosia and nephew, Ramon Nicosia.

     Mary was predeceased by her sister, Michaelyn Parker Nicosia, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousin, Helen Tukey.

     Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Mary’s Life on Friday, April 4 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave., Batavia, NY, where a luncheon will immediately follow to continue sharing memories of Mary.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
