Richard G. "Dick" Scott

Richard Scott, age 84, a lifelong resident of LeRoy, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

     He was the son of the late Donald McKay Scott and Alice R. (Hackett) Scott, formerly of Stafford, N.Y.

   Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rose Riggi Scott; four children, Regina Konarski (Joe Saeva), Renee Thompson (Jack Frank), Rachelle Futter and Richard (Shelley) Scott; thirteen grandchildren, William, Richard, James (Elaina) Konarski, Brendan (Michelle) Thompson, Bridget Fogg, Brett Thompson, Brooke Thompson (Jezelle), Brandy (Matt) Dunham, Rebecca (Adam) Shultz, Nicole (Erik) Anderson, Danielle Fiorito, Ericia and Emilee Scott; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Rowena) Scott and Donald Scott; sister, Shirley Gross, along with several nieces and nephews.

     He was predeceased by his sisters, Donna Hollister, Peggy Scott and Linda Scott; son-in-laws, Raymond Thompson and Timothy Futter and great-grandson, Emmett Fiorito.

     Richard worked at LeRoy Bottling Works from 1955 to 1958 and was a 1958 graduate of LeRoy High School.  He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962.  After serving his country, he settled back in LeRoy and worked at Lapp Insulator from 1962 to 1995.  He then went to work for FTT in Geneseo in 1995 until his retirement in 2006.

     He enjoyed farming, bowling, golf, Fox news, the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all.

     Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 9 from 1 ~ 3 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where his funeral service and military honors will be held at 3:00 PM.  Interment at St. Francis Cemetery will be private.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either the LeRoy American Legion, 53 West Main St., LeRoy, NY 14482 or the LeRoy Historical Society, P.O. Box 176, LeRoy, NY 14482.
