Inman, South Carolina - Rachel Marian Crandall, 59 of Inman, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, (January 18, 2025) at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Rachel was born August 11, 1965 in Buffalo, New York a daughter of the late Dale and Hazel (Winspear) Crandall.

Rachel received her Master's degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and then went on to work for Genesee County in child and adult services until 2006. She then moved to Asheville, North Carolina where she continued working in child services with Buncombe County until her retirement in 2015. Rachel's incredible sense of humor was cherished by all who knew her, and she was always willing to help someone in need, whether by offering a listening ear, thoughtful advice, or a kind gesture.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Mary-Margaret (Crandall) Moffitt; son-in-law, Daniel R. Moffitt; grandchildren, Nicholas D. Crandall, Lily F. Moffitt, Michael T. Moffitt, Grace E. Moffitt; and cherished cousins, Julie (Winspear) Jackson and her family and Joann (Carpenter) Brigzna and her family.

In death Rachel is reunited with her parents, and her brother Michael D. Crandall.

There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rachel's memory to a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements for Rachel were entrusted to the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, Oakfield.
