Calvin J. Platten, Sr.

Calvin J. Platten, Sr., 84, of Batavia, passed away on June 25, 2024 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Calvin was born October 21, 1939 in Batavia, a son of the late Thomas and Alberta (Stringham) Platten.

Calvin had his own painting business and also worked at Adam Miller Toys and Bicycles.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always willing to help others.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Platten of Batavia; a son, Calvin (Amy) Platten, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Calvin Platten III and Catherine Platten and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Platten, Jr., Robert Platten and Albert Platten.

Calling hours are Thursday, July 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where Calvin's funeral will be held on Friday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m.  He will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery in Batavia.
