Elba - Gary D. Boldt, 59 of Elba, passed away on Friday, (May 24, 2024) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born January 23, 1965 in Batavia, a son of Eugene Boldt of Elba and the late Eleanor (Kowalik) Boldt.

Gary spent most of his childhood on their family farm. He was a life member and past assistant chief of the Elba Volunteer Fire Department. He started his career at L & L Transmission and spent many years working for the Elba Highway Department before retiring. After retirement, Gary went back to work for Professional Drainage Systems in Elba. Gary loved spending time hunting with his children and working on vehicles in his garage. His children were his pride and joy. He also had a special spot in his heart for his dog Nala and grand dog Fia.

Along with his father, Gary is survived by his wife, Diane (Ayers) Boldt of Elba; daughter, Nicole (Vito Muoio) Boldt of Byron; son, Zachary Boldt of Elba; brothers, Dennis (Linda) Boldt of Medina, and Douglas Boldt of Batavia; sister, Diane (James) Snyder of Elba. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends also survive.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, (May 31, 2024) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia. A Fireman's Memorial service will be held on Friday at 7:30 pm. Gary 's Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Elba.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Flight EMS (www.mercyflight.org) or LeRoy Ambulance (www.leroyems.org).  Please leave a condolence, share a story, or light a candle at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
