Pat was born on January 24, 1941, in Batavia, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Washburn Toal.
Pat´s servant heart and caring soul endeared her to everyone she met. A member of The First Presbyterian Church of Elba, she had held the position of Deacon. Pat was also a longtime member of The Elba Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, celebrating 50 years of participation and service, with an impressive 44 years of running the Bingo Kitchen on Tuesday nights. Many will remember her for making the best macaroni salad for Rec Hall events. She also served as an election inspector, a den mother, and proudly provided the absolute best care for her many grandchildren. An avid lover of puzzles, reading, and afternoon tea, she enjoyed a simple life focused on the family she had raised.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James A. Baldwin, Sr. of Elba; her children, Amy (Sam) Mooney of Oakfield, Gregory J. (Lori) Baldwin, Jr. of Holley, Peggy (David) Shuknecht and James A. (Bonnie) Baldwin, Jr., both of Elba; eight grandchildren, Renee Mooney, Sarah Mooney and Corey Mooney, all of Oakfield, Gregory J. Baldwin, Jr. of Holley, MSgt. Brian (Elizabeth) Baldwin, USAF, who is currently stationed in Georgia, Brian (Elizabeth) Shuknecht of Elba, Daniel (Katelyn Cooper) Shuknecht of Pavilion and Hannah and Joshua Baldwin, both of Elba; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dave (late Shirley) Toal of Fulton, Ron (Cheryl) Toal of Elba; her sister, Shirley (Mike) Heatherman of LeRoy and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Christen L. Baldwin who passed away on June 18, 2016.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
