She was born December 5, 1928 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Nelson and Elsie Ruth Richenberg Pocock. Mrs. Hinz was a 1946 graduate of Batavia High School. She had been employed by Marine Midland Bank, M & T Bank, substitute teacher aide for special education at B.O.C.E.S., in Batavia and an aide at Heritage Manor of LeRoy.
Mrs. Hinz was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Samuel) Goldwater of Tyler, TX. Two sons, Thomas Hinz of Aliquippa, PA and Timothy (Darlene) Hinz of Batavia. Five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sister in-law, Nancy Pocock of Batavia also survive.
She was the sister of the late John Pocock and Marguerite Swaim.

LEONARD McANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, NY. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave., Batavia. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
