Elsie Ruth Hinz

Elsie Ruth Hinz, 90 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Saturday (February 2, 2019) at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

She was born December 5, 1928 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Nelson and Elsie Ruth Richenberg Pocock. Mrs. Hinz was a 1946 graduate of Batavia High School. She had been employed by Marine Midland Bank, M & T Bank, substitute teacher aide for special education at B.O.C.E.S., in Batavia and an aide at Heritage Manor of LeRoy.

Mrs. Hinz was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Samuel) Goldwater of Tyler, TX. Two sons, Thomas Hinz of Aliquippa, PA and Timothy (Darlene) Hinz of Batavia. Five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sister in-law, Nancy Pocock of Batavia also survive.

She was the sister of the late John Pocock and Marguerite Swaim.

Friends and family are invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Wednesday (February 6th) from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the J. LEONARD McANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, NY. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave., Batavia. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
