
She was a graduate of Perry Central School and Fredonia State College. Marjorie was an elementary school teacher teaching kindergarten in LeRoy for a year and then transferred to Perry Elementary school where she taught 2nd grade for over 30 years. She worked summers at the former Borden Milk Plant in Perry. She was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry, Order of Eastern Star in Perry and the Delta Kappa Gamma. Marjorie had a great love of singing; she sang in the church choir since the age of 14, Perry Rotary chorus for over 60 years, York Opera for 10 years, the Community Chorus and the Genesee Coral Festival chorus for over 23 years. She enjoyed people, children, mowing her lawn, hiking and skiing.
She is survived by 2 nieces: Joan Meyers of Attica, Betsy Shaw of Denver, Co., 2 nephews: James (Laura) Richards, Carl (Connie) Richards both of Silver Springs, along with many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great-great nephews and many friends.
Family and friends may call from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Saturday December 22, 2018 at the Brick Presbyterian Church 6 Church St. Perry, NY 14530, where Funeral Services will follow at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
