Francis R. Greene

Francis R. Greene, 91 of Perry, passed away on Friday January 26, 2018. He was born in Bliss, NY on April 11, 1926 to the late Benjamin (Margaret Bentley) Greene. He is preceded in death by his siblings Leland, George and William Greene; Viola Overholt, Helen Loper and Bessie Galloway.

Mr. Greene was a World War II Army Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for many years as a Supervisor for the B&O Railroad, finishing his career in Warsaw. Francis was a member of the Masons in Eagle, the Brick Presbyterian Church, he was very well liked in Perry and enjoyed having coffee with his friends. Family was extremely important to him and he was instrumental in helping during times of hardship. The Greene family just celebrated their 90th family reunion thanks in large part to uncle Francis.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanne (Haxton) Greene of Perry; along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday January 31, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main Street, Perry, New York, 14530. Funeral Services will immediately follow calling hours at the Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Lyonsburg Cemetery.
