Stella M. Macugowski

Stella M. Macugowski, 96, of Batavia passed away peacefully on Friday December 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18, 1921 in Buffalo to the late Adam and Josephine (Petrewicz) Siderowicz. In addition to her parents, Stella is predeceased by her husband; Matthew Macugowski; brother Joseph Siderowicz; sisters Bernice Long and Laura Kubik.

Stella retired from Verizon in Batavia. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and was a dedicated parishioner. She loved to bake and cook, especially big meals. Stella was always caring for her family. She took amazing care of her husband who struggled with health issues. Above all else, Stella adored her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving daughters; Marcia (Anthony) Paladino of MI., Fay (Michael) Wastyk of PA., Paula (Michael) McKinley of GA., and Susan (Phillip) DiMartino of Batavia; 8 grandchildren Scott Paladino, Stacie (J.D.) Hill, Hannah Wastyk, Andrew McKinley, Grant McKinley, Christie McKinley, Matthew DiMartino and Lindsey (Jonathon) Marlowe; 7 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call from 10:00-11:00AM on Saturday December 30, 2017 at Ascension Parish 19 Sumner St. Batavia, NY 14020.  An 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation at Church. Stella will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in Batavia.
