Jean N. Weiss, 92 of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday (November 26, 2013) at United Memorial Medical Center.
She was born January 26, 1921 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn Carroll Nichols.
Jean was a supervisor for the former American Bell Telephone Company in Batavia prior to her retirement. She was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish and the St. Joseph Sodality. She was also a member of Zonta, Telephone Pioneers of America and St. Jerome's Guild. Jean was a tireless volunteer at the VA Hospital, St. Joseph's Carnival, the Jerome Center as well as a collection counter on Sundays at Resurrection Parish .
Jean was the wife of the late Donald “Skinny” Weiss and sister of the late Carroll Nichols.
Survivors include a sister, Wilma Schloerb of Morristown, NJ and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Family and friends may gather to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Monday (December 2nd) from 5-7pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 9:30am at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph Church). Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
