
Age 85, died Thursday evening September 14, 2017 at Rochester Regional Health/Unity Hospital. She was born November 24, 1931 in Batavia, NY a daughter of the late Fred and Lena (MacDowell) Petry also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Glenn W. Viehdeffer, Sr.; daughter, Kathy Viehdeffer; grandson, Glenn W. Viehdeffer III; great-grandson, Paris Howard; siblings, Fred Petry, Helen Johncox and Louise Rich.
Mrs. Viehdeffer graduated from Pavilion Central School in 1950 and was a longtime member of the Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry. A homemaker she worked at the Perry Knitting Co. and was a personal care aid. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, having visitors and loved the outdoors and watching birds.
Surviving are her loving children, Glenn W. (Dawn) Viehdeffer, Jr. of Oakfield, Cynthia (Scott) Fritag of FL, Kevin Viehdeffer of TN, Sharon (Tom Sietz) of Batavia, David Viehdeffer of Batavia and Rebecca Viehdeffer of Alexander; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
The Viehdeffer family will be present from 4-8pm on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATON CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020. She will be laid to rest with her late husband in Grand View Cemetery and memorials in her memory are suggested to the NYS Veterans Home @ Batavia Activities Fund.
