Age 83, of Batavia, a retired New York State Trooper (Troop A), retiring as an Investigator with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, died peacefully Tuesday morning August 6, 2013 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born March 15, 1930 in Stoneham, MA to the late Samuel J. & Vera (Belle) Duken also preceded in death by a brother, Donald.
A United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. In addition to spending time with his family he enjoyed fishing, hunting, model shipbuilding and was a long time member of the Elks Club of Batavia.
Surviving is his beloved wife, whom he married August 8, 1951, Arlene "Connie" (Horn) Duken of Batavia; loving children, Richard W. Duken of Wilmington, OH, Patricia (Michael) Reich, Diane (Benjamin) Bonarigo all of Batavia and; brother, Gilbert (Judith) Duken of Plattsburgh, NY; sister-in-law, Esperanza Duken of New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Duken's wishes were to have services held privately by the family. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery and memorials in his memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
