Sarah B. Duschen, 92, of Batavia, passed away Friday (July 19, 2013) at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
Sarah was born on May 21, 1921 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Johnson Miles. She worked for S.S. Kresge and retired from Doll's Super Duper Market in Corfu. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved sewing, needlepoint, crocheting and knitting for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sarah was a member of the Indian Falls Methodist Church Senior Citizens. Her husband Floyd Andrew (Andy) Duschen, passed away July 28, 2001. Sarah was the mother of the late Alvin, Gary and Cody Duschen; sister of the late Albert Henry Miles, William G. Miles, Oliver Miles, Ann Kelley and Frances Miles and grandmother of the late Joseph Samiec.
Sarah is survived by a son, James (Donna) Duschen of Corfu and a daughter, Dorothy Gioia of Batavia; one brother, Robert Miles of Corfu; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Miles of Corfu; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 10 - 11 a.m. in the narthex of the Indian Falls United Methodist Church 7908 Allegheny Road, Corfu. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements were made by C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc. 4 East Main Street, Corfu.
