Died peacefully Friday August 4, 2017 at United Memorial Medical Center at the age of 90. He was born October 20, 1926 in Bennington, NY a son of the late Joseph and Angeline (Gawron) Wyrwa also preceded in death by his beloved wife Angeline (DiMartino) Wyrwa in 2011; siblings, Viola (late Eugene) Olejniczak, Josephine (late John) Kowalczyk and Florence (late Harold) Wind.
Mr. Wyrwa was a US Army Veteran of WWII and formerly worked at Dohler-Jarvis, Carborundum/AMAX and finally at Alliance Tool & Die. A member of Resurrection Parish, Monsignor Kirby Council Knights of Columbus and Polish Falcons Nest #492. He an avid coin collector, loved to travel, a "Master Tinkerer", who could fix anything, never missed a good Polka and enjoyed the Wal-Mart Coffee Club until his health no longer allowed. Most importantly his family will remember the quiet, soft spoken gentleman who was known for his patience, generosity and how he adored the "light of his life", grandson, Sam.
Surviving are his loving daughters, Diana Wyrwa, Maryann (Todd) Bowman and their son, Samuel all of Batavia; sister, Marion (late Jack) Heist of Lancaster; brother, Richard (Joan) Wyrwa of Maryland; sister-in-law, Mary DiMartino of Batavia along with many nieces and nephews.
The Wyrwa family will be present from 4-8pm Tuesday August 8, 2017 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATON CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:30am Wednesday August 9 followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph Site), he will be entombed with his wife in the Rev. T. Bernard Kelly Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials in his memory are suggested to the Notre Dame High School Music & Drama Dept. Union Street Batavia, NY 14020.
