Mildred B. Cina, 88 of Batavia, died January 16, 2012 at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia. She was born March 11, 1923 in Batavia to the late Salvatore Cina and the late Paulene Columbo. Ms. Cina worked for 42 years at the VA Medical Center in Batavia and also volunteered at the VA and St. Jerome’s Hospital after her retirement. She was a member of Ascension Parish-St. Anthony’s Church, the Altar & Rosary Society, St. Jerome’s Hospital Guild and taught church school at St. Anthony’s School. She is preceded in death by her brother Charles Cina.
Ms. Cina is survived by her aunt Nancy (Samuel) Ficarella of Batavia; cousin James (Kim) Ficarella of Batavia, who helped her greatly in her later years along with many other cousins.
There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 21, 2012 at Ascension Parish-St. Anthony’s Church, 122 Liberty Street, Batavia, New York. Interment will take place in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia, NY.
