
Mrs. DelPlato worked for many years at Deans Drug Store in Batavia and also part time cleaning at 400 Towers. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Church/Ascension Parish, it’s Altar and Rosary Society, St. Michael’s Society, church choir, and St. Anthony’s School PTA. Music was a large part of her life, she wrote songs and sang them for residents of 400 Towers and Genesee County Nursing Home. Mary collaborated with her grandson Anthony on a CD titled “Sounds of Christmas”. She’ll be remembered for her beautiful smile and the love she had cooking for family along with all the neighborhood children.
Mrs. DelPlato is survived by her children Frank (Kathleen) of Cooperstown; John, Charles (Linda), Daniel (Elise), Joseph, Vincent, Michael (Bridget), all of Batavia; Carmen (Deborah) DelPlato of Williamson; Mary E. DelPlato of Batavia; sister Gloria (Al) Sardo of Roanoke, VA; brother-in-law Frank Cantone of Brooklyn; grandchildren James, Anthony, Richard, Sophia, Danielle, Jonathan, Marcella, Joseph, Theo, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday February 6, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Ascension Parish 19 Sumner St. Batavia, NY 14020. She will be entombed in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Batavia.
