Byron - June R. Vile, 93, of Byron, formerly of the Albany area, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Johnson’s Elderly Care in Byron while under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.
Mrs. Vile was born June 23, 1923 in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Stanley and Martha (Ruck) Wells.
An accomplished artist, Mrs. Vile was raised in Elba and worked in management for many years for New York Telephone in Albany. She was a member of the telephone pioneers, was active in various community organizations in the Albany area and volunteered much of her time raising funds through public television.
She is predeceased by her husband, James S. Vile.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Conrad Scheg) LeSage of Rochester; five grandchildren, Melinda Quaintance, Melissa LeSage, Lisa Smith, Emilie (Barry) Moss and Jess (Melissa) LeSage; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
There are no prior visiting hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in Maplelawn Cemetery, Elba.
