Batavia ~ Sarah R. Zinni, age 87, formerly of Tracy Avenue, passed away Sunday morning (Sept. 18, 2016) at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
She was born May 11, 1929 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline Malone O'Geen.
Mrs. Zinni was very devoted to her family and her faith. She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Anthony's Church in Batavia. She worked for over 40 years as a waitress at Batavia Downs and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, as well as spending time in casinos.
She is survived by her sons, John (Christine) Zinni of Fredonia, Robert (Karen) Zinni of Batavia and Richard (Cathy) Zinni of LeRoy; her grandchildren, David, Matthew, Mark, Elizabeth, Sarah, Joseph (Amy), Robert, Mary, Diana and John; her great-grandchildren, Louie and Josie; her siblings, Frank (Rosie) O'Geen of Batavia, Salvatore (Joan) O'Geen, Philip (JoAnn) O'Geen, Joseph (Donna) O'Geen and Connie Cecere, all of LeRoy; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Zinni in 1999, her brother, James O'Geen and her sister, Palmina O'Geen.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 ~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. Her Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy with interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Batavia.
