Bryan M. Hargrave is indicted on three counts of burglary, 3rd, criminal mischief and petit larceny.

Hargrave is accused of the following crimes:

• On Sept. 23, breaking into Pavilion Drainage, 6630 Route 63, Pavilion, and stealing $60.
• On Sept. 23, breaking into B.W.'s Bar, 11070 Perry Road, Pavilion, and stealing an iPod, laptop computer and money.
• On Sept. 23, breaking into the Willow Bend Inn, 3489 W. Main Street Road, Batavia, and stealing $75 and two bottles of liquor.

Carl Rivers is indicted on one count of grand larceny, 3rd. Rivers is accused of stealing a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado on March 19, 2009, in Oakfield.

A fire alarm with smoke in the building has been reported at 2977 Shelby Road, Oakfield.

Oakfield Fire responded first. Elba and Alabama are also being dispatched. Town of Batavia is requested to the Oakfield fire hall.

UPDATE 10:31 a.m.: The smoke is coming from a dishwasher. Firefighters are going to ventilate the room.  Batavia fire has been sent to Tonawanda Creek as a draft site. East Pembroke asked to respond to the Oakfield hall for standby.

Frankie McQueen, 19; Nickol Burnett, 19; Erick Horning, 20; David Klecker, 18; Joseph Striegil, 19; Christopher King, 18; Andrew Wright, 19, are charged with possession of alcohol under 21 years of age. Batavia Police reportedly responded to a complaint of a loud party with possible underage drinking at Woodstock Gardens Apartments. Allegedly, McQueen was hosting a party where people under 21 were consuming alcohol. McQueen was also charged with criminal nuisance.

Crystal L. Goodrich, 26, of 1090 Water St., Apt 1, Perry, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to stop at stop sign, operating while registration suspended, operating without insurance and unlicensed operator. Goodrich was stopped at 1:56 a.m., Saturday, on Perry Road in Pavilion by Deputy Howard Carlson.

Jared Christopher Dawe, 22, of 6469 Swamp Road, Lot #39, Byron, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Dawe was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute at 1:54 a.m., Saturday, with his girlfriend. During the investigation by Deputy Frank Bordonaro, Dawe was allegedly found to possess marijuana.

Amy Lou Platten, 40, of 337 Main Road, Pembroke, is charged criminal contempt, 2nd. Platten is accused of contacting a person she was ordered not to contact.

Leon James Pocock, 36, of 83 S. Lake Ave., Studio 1, Bergen, is charged with criminal contempt, 2nd. Pocock is accused of violating an order of protection by texting a person he was ordered not to contact.

Bryan P. Umlauf, 24, of Batavia, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Umlauf was issued a ticket by State Police in Le Roy at 2:10 p.m., Saturday.

Timothy J. Tryjankowski, 31, of Alabama, is charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation. Tryjankowski was stopped by State Police at 5:30 a.m., Sunday. He was jailed on cash bail.

Jeremy D. Lyons, 25, of Oakfield, is charged with trespass and aggravated unlicensed operation, 2nd; and, Robert J. Spenton, 24, unknown address, is charged with trespass. Lyons and Spenton were charged by State Police for an alleged incident March 31 at Park Avenue and Route 63. No further details were released.

Patrick J. Puccio, 36, of Oakfield, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater. Puccio was charged by State Police follow a one-vehicle accident 3:20 a.m., Saturday, on Reuben Road, Alabama.

Amy L. Brown, 37, of Batavia, is charged with grand larceny, 3rd. Brown was arrested by State Police on Thursday in connection with an alleged incident on Jan. 13. No further details are available.

Joshua K. Williams, 18, of 4 Laura St., Rochester, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 3rd, and unlawful possession of marijuana. Williams was reportedly a passenger in a car stopped for alleged traffic violations at 12:50 a.m., Thursday, by Officers Daniel Coffey and Frank Klimjack on Clinton Street. During the stop, it was discovered that Williams allegedly had three outstanding arrest warrants. During a search, officers say they found crack cocaine and marijuana. Possession of controlled substance in the third degree carries the allegation that there was an intent to sell the substance.

Michael Lynn Bropst, 39, 3 1/2 Tracy Ave., upper, Batavia, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Bropst was stopped by Deputy Brian Thompson at 12:45 p.m. on March 26 on Route 33 for alleged tailgating. Bropst was allegedly found in possession of marijuana during the traffic stop.

Thomas F. Rudolph, 18, of Batavia, is charged with unlawful possession marijuana. Rudolph was arrested at 4:36 p.m., Wednesday, by State Police in the Town of Batavia. No further details were released.

Billy J. Johnson, 32, of Oakfield, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Johnson was arrested at 8:37 p.m., Wednesday, in the Village of Oakfield by State Police. No further details available.

I was in Oakfield this evening chasing what turned out to be a story that didn't pan out, but I figured so long as I was out that way and the sun was setting, I should try to find a barn to photograph at sunset. This is what I came up with. It's on Macomber Road near Galloway.

Two-year-old Keegan Delcamp, of Batavia, has already had open-heart surgery. He still needs a transplant.

Two co-workers of Keegan's mother, Ronette Wolcot, from Attica, and Marcy Mabon, of Oakfield, are sitting atop Mabon's home to help raise awareness of Keegan's plight and encourage cash and recyclable donations.

The women started their rooftop sitting at noon today and will stay there until midnight noon tomorrow (Sunday).

They said the word got out fast today (mostly through forwarded text messages) and they've had a big turn out, including one man who dropped off -- anonymously -- $500 in cash first thing.  They've received other $500 donations, as well.

The pile of cans and bottles in Mabon's yard is about 4 feet high. Co-workers have already raised $2,000.

Mabon said there is no limit on how much they need to raise -- Keegan's needs are just too great.

An Oakfield man accused of forcing sexual acts with a woman was acquitted by a jury in Genesee County Court today, according to his attorney.

Attorney Fred Rarick said he felt all along that his client, 40-year-old Maurice Doleman, was innocent because there was no evidence of physical trauma to the woman's body and she waited hours after the alleged act to call police or go to a hospital.

"I'm very pleased," Rarick said. "We had a wonderful jury who listened to all of the evidence."

He said the evidence supported statements Doleman gave to investigators at the time of his arrest, and the jury agreed, that the woman engaged in consensual sex.

The woman claimed Doleman had abused her during during a two-hour sexual encounter.

Doleman was indicted in November on two counts of criminal sex acts, 1st. The alleged incident took place in August and he was arrested in September.

A fully involved car fire has been reported on Park Avenue near Judge Road in Oakfield.

Today's scheduled trial of a former Oakfield-Alabama teacher who is accused of sexually abusing a student has been pushed back to May 11.

Oakfield Town Justice Thomas A. Graham confirmed that 27-year-old Kerry Hoffman had until yesterday to accept a plea offer or go to trial, and Hoffman did not accept a plea deal. His case is going to trial.

All seven charges against Hoffman, five counts of sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and a count of official misconduct, are misdemeanors.

The case will be tried in Oakfield Town Court.

Previously, attorney Thomas D. Calandra has proclaimed his client's innocent.

"People will be surprised," said Calandra in January. "We will be bringing up issues that will surprise people."

Mike Ognibene has operated a car sales business in Oakfield for about five years, but in the past several months his, and his family's, business interests have expanded to include a hair studio, a gym, real estate and a car wash.

"I really like the Village of Oakfield," Ognibene said. "The people of Oakfield have welcomed us with open arms. I can’t say enough about the people of Oakfield. They were glad we put the gym in. I think they appreciate that there is investment in their community."

Ognibene, owner of Crazy Cheap Cars, is clearly proud of his daughter Jennifer Ognibene, who with partner Samatha Hilchey, opened Hair Studio 25 on Main Street a few months ago.

Jennifer was studing physical education at GCC when she started learning hairstyling at Continental School of Beauty and found it was a profession she really enjoyed.

"It’s what I love to do," Jennifer Ognibene said. "It’s exciting to me to do people’s hair. I especially like doing color because you get to see the results after it’s done."

The hair studio is in the same building as Mike Ognibene's wife's real-estate business, Big O Realty, and Mike's new gym.

Soon the gym, which takes up space at the front of the building with a big window facing Main Street, and the hair studio will share a sauna and tanning booth.

The gym, Ognibene said, was really the product of having an appropriate space but no other business stepping forward to rent the space. He saw an opportunity for an exercise space in Oakfield and decided to buy the equipment and open a gym.

"I wanted to make it a lot of cardio because a lot of people want cardio," Ognibene said. "Then I wanted a universal gym because I didn’t want big bars and guys trying to over  lift. We don’t have a straight bar where there could be any risk of injury, because (people) can come in and leave on their own, 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. I thought (a universal gym) would be safer.

David J. Swartz, 49, of 313 Washington Ave., Batavia, is charged with petit larceny and trespass. Swartz was reportedly found on CSX Railroad property Wortendyke Road in the Town of Batavia. Sheriff's deputies and a CSX Railroad police officer responded to the area at 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. Swartz was allegedly stealing items from CSX.

Joshua S. Bettilyon, 22, of 26 Maple St., Apt. A, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and speeding. Bettilyon was stopped by Deputy Chad Minuto in the Village of Oakfield at 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, for allegedly speeding.

Charles Daniel Bucci, 34, of 22219 Judge Road, Oakfield, is charged with criminal trespass, 2nd, and criminal mischief. Bucci is accused of kicking in the basement door of his ex-girlfriend's house, breaking the glass in the process. He was reportedly found at 2:49 a.m., Saturday, sleeping in the basement.

Sara Jo Likus, 24, of School Street, East Pembroke, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal trespass. Likus is accused of entering a residence in Le Roy without permission on Wednesday evening and getting in a fight with a woman at that residence. A 5-year-old child was home at the time.

Malik I. Ayala, 18, of 44 Walnut St., Batavia, is charged with robbery, 2nd, petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. Ayala is accused of stealing an MP3 player from a 15-year-old youth in the parking lot of MacArthur Park. Another suspect has been identified and is being sought by police. Ayala was jailed without bail.

Amy Lynn Showler, 34, of 9 Pearl St., lower, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Showler is accused of shoplifting from Kmart.

Wendelyn Leigh Ruiz, 48, of 177 Menard Drive, Rochester, is charged with DWI and reckless driving. After receiving a report of a vehicle operating erratically and forcing oncoming vehicles on to the shoulder on Route 33 in the Town of Batavia, Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello made contact with a vehicle allegedly driven by Ruiz. Upon investigation, Sgt. Sanfratello concluded that Ruiz was allegedly operating under the influence of prescription drugs.

Adam A. Fusco, 28, of 3613 Retsof Road, Retsof, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and speeding. Fusco was reportedly stopped by Deputy Patrick Reeves at 9:58 p.m., Friday, in the area of 675 Main Road, Pembroke.

Kurt Walter Guhman, 37, of 6213 Route 5, Stafford, is charged with criminal mischief, 4th. Guhman is accused of taking his wife's mobile phone during a domestic dispute, preventing her from making a call for help. Guhman was arrested at 8:15 p.m., Friday. He was jailed on $500.

William Holtz McGorray, 44, of 237 Wright Road, Alabama, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08, and unsafe turn/failure to signal. McGorray was reportedly stopped by Deputy Jason Saile on Wright Road 2:44 a.m., Friday.

Joseph Nicholas Striegel, 19, of 509 Main Road, Pembroke, is charged with unlawful dealing with a child. Striegel is accused of hosting an underage drinking party. He was arrested at 1:14 a.m., Sunday.

Matthew Scott Williams, 22, of 5012 Hundredmark Road, Elba, is charged with grand larceny, 4th. Williams is accused of stealing a shotgun.

Matthew Legler, 20, of 736 Paul Road, Chili, is charged with grand larceny, 4th. Legler is accused of stealing a shotgun.

Andrew Steven Novak, 47, 7235 Telephone Road, Le Roy, is charged with DWI as a felony and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater as a felony. Novak was reportedly involved in a car accident on Linwood Road, Le Roy, at 5:58 p.m., Sunday. Novak was also issued tickets for alleged failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely.

Jason M. Wolf, 46, of 8770 Wenner Road, Williamsville, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, speeding and passing in a no-passing zone. Wolf was stopped by Deputy Patrick Reeves at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, on West Main Street Road, Pembroke, after the Sheriff's Office received a complaint of an erratic driver on Route 5, who was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed and passing other cars illegally.

Karri A. Kunst, 36, of 43 Ballantyne Road, Rochester, is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, operating with a BAC of .08 or greater. Kunst was stopped at the intersection of Clinton Street and East Main Street in Batavia by Officer Matthew W. Baldwin after the dispatch center received a report of an erratic driver on Clinton Street Road, Town of Batavia.

Steen L. Bordonaro, 43, of 30 Woodcrest Drive, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. Bordonaro was stopped by Officer Frank Klimjack, who was following up on a report of a subject getting involved in a fight at a bar in Oakfield and driving to the city. Klimjack reportedly stopped Bordonaro's vehicle on Lewiston Road in the City of Batavia. Bordonaro was arrested at 12:24 a.m., Sunday.

James N. Lauricella, 23, of Le Roy, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, equipment violation and a license plate violation. Lauricella was arrested by state police at 7:30 p.m., Saturday.

Scott B. Humel, 23, of Pembroke, is charged with disorderly conduct (creating a hazardous condition). Humel was arrested by state police at 12:49 a.m., Sunday. No further details available.

The church and adjoining house -- the manse -- will be sold together with a starting bid of $20,000. The high bidder has the option to buy all the contents of the buildings for an additional $5,000.

The assessed value is $398,000, and current annual taxes are about $16,607. 

The church was built in 1890. It's 11,740 square feet. Besides the manse, there's also a one-car detached garage.

Potential bidders can check out the buildings at open houses 10 a.m. to noon on March 13 and March 17. The winning bidder will be required to make an immediate $10,000 deposit.

The auction is being conducted by Harris Wilcox, a Bergen-based company.

An Oakfield woman is accused of thinking her ex-husband's bank account was still hers for the taking.

Michelle Parker, 39, of 14 Cary Ave., is charged with grand larceny, 4th, grand larceny, 3rd, and perjury, 1st, after allegedly stealing $8,000 from her ex-husband's account.

Parker allegedly gave false testimony about the accounts while under oath in Genesee County Superior Court.

She was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment.

The case was investigated by by Det. Todd Crossett of the Batavia Police Department.

The following indictments have been handed down by a Genesee County Grand Jury:

Jeffery M. Wisinski, 38, of 7484 Lake St., Vienna, seven counts: Burglary, 2nd; petit larceny; burglary, 3rd; grand larceny 3rd; criminal mischief, 2nd; criminal mischief, 3rd; and, grand larceny, 4th. Wisinski is accused of breaking into a garage at 510 Bloomingdale Road, Alabama, on or about Sept. 10 or 11 and stealing a 2007 Dodge Charger and a credit card. Jason John Reed, 33, of 33 Sunset Parkway, Oakfield, four counts: driving while intoxicated as a class E felony; driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08 or greater; aggravated unlicensed operation; and endangering the welfare of a child. Oakfield-Alabama Elementary School employees, pictured in their “Fight Like a Girl” T-shirts, show support for Mrs. Esther Goodrich, who is battling breast cancer. Mrs. Goodrich is the wife of the school district’s Director of Special Education, Mike Goodrich. Thanks to elementary school Principal Mark Alexander, teachers and staff enjoyed a dress down day. All proceeds will benefit Genesee Cancer Assistance.

The Batavia area was blanketed by about an inch of snow over night, and snow will continue through the day, with very little accumulation.

But accumulation tonight should be another one or two inches. By Monday snow showers will turn to flurries.

Temperatures will be in the mid-20s range, with overnight lows dropping below 20 degrees.

Corey J. Hemmer, 23, of 91 S. Main Apt. B, Elba, is charged with petit larceny. Hemmer reportedly tried to return an empty box to Walmart at 6:41 p.m. Friday in exchange for a gift card. Hemmer reportedly received a gift card and after he left the customer service counter, employees reportedly discovered the box had no merchandise inside. Hemmer was located at a cash register attempting to purchase merchandise from the store.  When confronted by a loss prevention officer from the store, Hemmer allegedly ran from the store. When he was caught outside, Hemmer allegedly resisted detention. The loss prevention officer also reportedly spotted merchandise inside of Hemmer's jacket. Hemmer was eventually found hiding behind trees off Route 63.

Alice E. Coover, 34, of 112 Lake St., Apt. 1, Le Roy, is charged with three counts of unlawful dealing with a child 1st. Coover was arrested by Sgt. Michael J. Hare of the Le Roy Police Department for allegedly providing alcohol to three teenagers on Friday and Saturday nights.

Amy E. Loranty, 27, of 215 Bank St., Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Loranty is accused of being in Target at 12:15 p.m. yesterday with her boyfriend and her two children when she allegedly stole articles of clothing.

Thomas C. Couse, 45, of 2728 Buffalo Road, Rochester, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to stop at stop sign and moving from lane unsafely. Couse was allegedly involved in a car accident at 3:20 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Route 33 and 33A, Bergen. Couse allegedly left the scene of the accident and then was identified when he returned to the scene. The accident was investigated by Deputy John Weis.

Jason Norman Haacke, 32, of 47 Farnsworth Ave., Oakfield, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and speeding. Haacke was stopped by at 8:59 p.m. Saturday by Deputy Jason Saile in Oakfield for allegedly speeding. He was then arrested on the alleged DWI charges.

Robert Alan Steavens, 41, of 3478 Spring Road, Alexander, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, improper right turn, failure to dim headlights.  Steavens was stopped at 2:13 a.m. Friday in Darien by Deputy Jason Saile.

Ryan M. Bobzin, 21, of Bergen, is charged with harassment 2nd. Bobzin was arrested by State Police at 11:17 p.m. Sunday. No further details were released.
