Charles S. Bartlett, 68, of Corfu, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at home.
Charles was born December 31, 1956 in Batavia, N.Y. to the late Walter and Dorothy (Skeet) Bartlett. He graduated from Pembroke High School in 1975. He worked a few different jobs before he found his home working as a machinist for Safran in Lancaster, N.Y. for 45 years until his retirement on December 13, 2024.
He was a loving brother, father, and grandfather and was adored by his entire family. He was a kind and patient man who brought light everywhere he went. He lived life to the fullest and was always willing to help anyone in their time of need.
Nothing made him happier than his grandchildren. He got joy from attending the annual steam show with Dude and Harper Bee, wrestling with the twins on Christmas, or riding in the Annual Bartlett Easter Parade with Chase and Lacey-Rae. And although dessert was not his thing, one of his favorite days of the year was buying a maple ice cream for all his children and grandchildren at the Alexander Steam Show. These are the memories and traditions his family will continue to carry on in his legacy and always remember the wonderful man he was.
He was an Eagle Scout and a lifetime member of Darien Fire Department. He had several hobbies including beekeeping, hunting, farming, going to Bennington Lanes to enjoy the WNY Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association, going out with work friends and helping during maple season, collecting and boiling sap with his son. He loved to socialize and he could always be found spending time with his family and friends. No matter where he went, he was the life of the party and always made a point to talk to everyone. He could be found at any given time with a smile on his face and an appropriately themed earring in his ear. He always had a great story, even if you had heard it 3 times before and even if you were backing out of his driveway while he leaned in the window saying “one more thing”.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is predeceased by his niece, Mindy Beals.
Charles is survived by his 3 children, Charles (Amy) Bartlett, Jeremey (Shannon) Bartlett, and James Bartlett, his Grandchildren Conner Bartlett, Harper Bartlett, Finley Bartlett, Fern Bartlett, Chase Bartlett, and Lacey-Rae Bartlett, Sisters Lin (Skip) Bartlett-Taylor, and Carol (Patty Fletcher) Bartlett, And his long-time girlfriend, Eileen Jackson. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
Charles/Dad/Grandpa will be sorely missed by all. May he rest peacefully.
Family and Friends may call April 4, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu, N.Y. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Corfu, at the convenience of the family.
