Margery S. Ellison

New York City ~ Margery S. Ellison, age 68, of West 80th St, passed away unexpectedly February 26th in her Manhattan apartment. She was born October 12, 1956 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Delbert Ellison, Harry and Shirley Weigel Simmons.

   Margie was a 1974 graduate of LeRoy High School and a 1977 graduate of Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Reading from Columbia University. An accomplished instrumental musician in oboe and piano, Margie moved to New York City to use her talents in the musical advertising business. Margie worked as a teacher at various private schools in Manhattan as well as a private tutor and music lesson instructor.

     She will be missed by her sisters, Deborah Ellison of Rochester, Barbara Burgio of The Villages, Florida and her brother, James (Joan) Ellison of LeRoy as well as friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margie was predeceased by her brothers, John Ellison and Thomas Simmons.

     A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Housing Conservation Coordinators, 777 10th Ave, New York, NY 10019.
