David H. Langdon, of 8 Cielo Drive, Dover, N.H., age 84, died on Friday, December 14, 2018 at his home with family by his side after a lengthy battle with diabetes and end-stage renal failure.
He was born August 27, 1934 in Eagle, NY, son of Herbert R. and Florence (Fuller) Langdon.
He graduated Valedictorian of his high school Class of 1952 from Perry High School, Perry, NY. He then went on to graduate from Clarkson Tech, now known as Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. His first job was with Raytheon in Waltham, Mass., and proceeded with jobs in Connecticut and Massachusetts, retiring in 1996 from Beckwood Services of Plaistow, N.H. His strongest feature was problem solving and fixing things.
David is remembered with love by his devoted and loving wife of nearly 70 years, Joanne (Dennison) Langdon, his daughters, Darcy and her husband, Richard “Doc” Davis of Nashua, N.H., and Dawn “Ali” and husband, Mike Gressel of Fremont, N.H., as well as his son, Doug and wife, Gina (Tanguay) of Barrington, N.H.
David was a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren; Darcy’s son, Scott Elliott of Pataskala, Ohio, and children of Doug and Gina, Andrew of Quincy, Mass., Sam, a senior attending the University of New Hampshire, and Catherine (Catie), a sophomore attending Endicott College.
David will also be remembered with love by sister in-law and brother in-law Joyce and John Simchick of Pennsylvania, and nieces and nephews include Brian of Kentucky, Debbie of South Carolina, Stephanie of Perry, NY and Rhonda of Rochester, NY, nephew, Dan, of Le Roy, NY and Kelly of Warsaw, NY, nephew Bill Champlin of Pennsylvania and niece Linda Rodriquez of South Carolina.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Daniel and Dale Langdon.
Funeral services were held December 17, 2018 at Wiggin Purdy McCooey Dion Funeral Home in Dover, N.H. Interment will take place in the spring of 2019 at Wethersfield Cemetery, Wethersfield, NY, among several generations of Langdons.
