Eugene R. Austin “Gene”, 69 of Akron, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning (August 23, 2018) at his residence.

He was born August 1, 1949 in Batavia, NY, a son of the late Loren Austin and Joyce Derr Austin of Batavia.

Gene was employed by Batavia Restaurant Supply prior to his retirement. He was a John Deer Tractor enthusiast and enjoyed farming in his younger years. He enjoyed attending steam show exhibits yearly and was a member of the Two Cylinder Club and Leisurewood Campground in Akron. Known by many as a hard worker, Gene will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving besides his mother, is his wife, Christine Michel Austin of Akron. Step-children, Todd Rambach of Depew, Kristy (Nelson) Maldonado of Akron and Chad (Amanda) Rambach of Batavia. Brother, James (Kathy) Austin of Elba. Sisters, Nancy (Kenneth) Miller of Elba and Patricia (Richard) Pratowski of Elba. Daughter in-law, Renee Rambach. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a step-son, Scott Rambach.
