
Deb started her nursing career as a candy striper at the Genesee County Nursing Home, she then received her LPN at McCallie School of Nursing then her RN at Genesee Community College and her Bachelor’s Degree at Roberts Wesleyan College. She also worked at the VA and St. Jerome Hospital, and she worked 30 plus years at Genesee Memorial/United Memorial Medical Center in the ICU, recovery room, as well as a Nursing Supervisor and for the last 20 plus years she worked in the Emergency Department. She was active in the Emergency Nurses Association where she held many positions. In the late 70’s and early 80’s she served as an EMT with LeRoy Volunteer Ambulance. She was also a CPR Instructor and taught many other classes around the area. She also served as a personal nurse to many friends in local law enforcement and fire departments. Lately her days were spent babysitting her grandson, who was her world.
Along with her mother she leaves behind her husband Jack E. Taylor whom she married September 4, 1982; daughter Stephanie (Michael Shellman) Taylor of Pavilion; siblings Glenn (Mary) Dugan of Roanoke, VA; Rebecca (Henry) Juliano of North Tonawanda; grandson Jackson William Taylor; along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call from 3 to 6 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 6:00 PM. Deborah will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery.
