Mansfield University women’s basketball’s Melanie Taylor has been named Most Improved Player for the 2017-18 season.
A Wyoming native, Taylor started in 23 of her 29 appearances at guard in her senior season. Averaging a fifth-best 5.6 points an outing, Taylor posted double-figure scoring in six games. The guard opened 2018 play in grand fashion, dropping a season-high 15 points in a win over Lock Haven. She recorded 49 assists and 23 steals while connecting on 68.8% of free throws.
