MARY M. ESTEN – Age 54, of Batavia and Elba, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon August 13, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born March 27, 1959 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Lewis & Margaret (Sheridan) Esten II, also preceded in death by her grandmother, Anne (Clark) Esten and great nephew, Michael C. Schad.
Mary was employed at United Memorial Medical Center and Darien Lake. She was a lifetime member of the Elba Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Western New York Gas and Steam Association and Elba Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, bowling, camping with family and helping at the Elba Plow Days with her family. Mary will be remembered as a person that would go out of her way for anyone to help.
Surviving are her brothers, Lewis H. (Ginger) Esten III of Elba, Charles Esten Sr. of Albion; sisters, Terry (Rick) Seiler of Lakeland, FL, Karen (Michael) Schad and Donna Esten both of Elba; very close friends, Gertrude Schad of Elba and Thomas (Elaine) Boss of Warsaw; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 1-4 & 6-9 PM Sunday August 18, 2013 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday. Burial will be alongside her mother and father in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba with memorials suggested to the Elba Fire Department 4 South Main Street Elba, New York 14058 or to the family.
PLEASE NOTE: Elba Fire Department/Ladies Auxiliary will meet Sunday at 7PM.
