Edwin E. Leaton

Batavia - Edwin E. Leaton, 95, of Batavia, passed away on Monday (April 3, 2017) at the Buffalo VA Medical Center.

Edwin was born June 7, 1921 in Stafford, a son of the late Harry and Susan (Eligh) Leaton.

A member of the First United Methodist Church in Batavia, Edwin was a plant manager at the former Curtis Burns in Oakfield.  He was a veteran, serving with the United States Army.  Edwin had a strong interest in education, serving on the school board for both Oakfield and BOCES.  He enjoyed gardening, adored his grandchildren and was a Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Arlene M. (Kibler) Leaton of Batavia; his children, Richard (Marcia) Leaton of Batavia, Ronald Leaton of St. Simons, GA, Susan (Larry) Aiello of Conover, NC and Thomas (Judith) Leaton of Liverpool; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Edwin is the father of the late Kibbie Leaton and brother of the late Alfred Leaton, Clarence Leaton and Ken Leaton.  

There are no prior calling hours.  Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia.  Edwin will be laid to rest at a later date in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.
