
Mr. Penepent was born January 15, 1927 in Batavia, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Panepinto) Penepent.
He is the husband of Althea (Schramm) Penepent of Byron. The two were married on November 21, 1953.
Dick is the former owner of WNY Concrete and was an avid gardener.
Surviving along with his wife are his children, Richard S. Penepent, II of Chili, Joseph A. (Jeanne) Penepent of Byron, Paul Penepent of Basiel, Switzerland, Jayne (Joseph Basile) Penepent of Greece and Dina (Joseph) Masi of Long Valley, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Penepent of Bergen; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Penepent, and Sophie Penepent both of Batavia. 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
Dick is preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Elizabeth Penepent; a son, Eugene “Geno” Penepent; and brothers, Philip (late Constance) Penepent, Angelo Penepent, Francis Penepent, and Anthony Penepent, Jr.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Richard’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish – St. Joseph’s Church, 303 East Main St., Batavia. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
