Bergen – Albert Lopez, 87, of Bergen, passed away on Friday (January 6, 2017) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.
Albert was born February 28, 1929 in Puerto Rico, a son of the late Alejandro and Dolores (Millan) Lopez.
Albert loved hunting, fishing, gardening, playing baseball, singing, dancing and playing his harmonica. He worked maintenance at the former Curtis Burns Factory.
Survivors include his children, Charlie (LeAnne) Johnston of Mumford, Dave (Dawn) Johnston of LeRoy, Maria (Joe) Chimino of Bergen, Christopher (Shelly) Lopez of Batavia, Renita (David) Carapella of North Chili, Dolores Lopez of Bergen, Maria D. Lopez of Puerto Rico, Luis Raul (Ivette) Lopez of Puerto Rico and Heriberto (Vilma) Lopez Jr. of Puerto Rico; a close family friend, Marcy Woods of Rochester and his brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico also survive along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Albert is the husband of the late Amelia Lopez and Mabel Lopez and brother of the late Esperanza Lopez.
There are no prior calling hours and services will be private. Albert will be laid to rest in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Bergen. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, Western New York Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Dr. Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380.
