I wasn't sold on any of the new build options..Where the police station stands right now is the best location. That building use too also hold City Hall and the Police station ..If they build a new one they will be stuck trying to sell the old one to get it back on the property tax rolls. At this time it would seem most feasible to keep what they have..The jail and old sherriffs dept might be and alternative if the county builds a new jail with orleans county. The city could move over there...Also adding the garage seems like something the city doesn't need and could be left off the finial plans........The state would of gave them the Armory on State St. which would of been more ideal for there wants.....The big question is can a city with a shrinking tax base afford to spend 12 million dollars on a Police Station that is still useful...If the city had any vision they would of never built a new city hall...Kept it were it was and relocated the police station instead......

Mark, The Armory on State
Mark,
The Armory on State Street was sold last year to a private company in Rochester, which is now paying taxes on it.
