Council members who look at this site, look at the numbers. It is not scientific poll, but you have to see that for the second time majority want funding stopped.
But as I mentioned once before, there will be another poll in November.
First, the previous question about about the amount.
This is about the amont of time it should continue. Entirely different issues.
Further, the previous poll, when last I looked, at the end of the day it ran, the majority wanted some sort of funding.
The poll is unscientific and not restricted to just Batavia residents. All polls should be seen merely for entertainment purposes, though perhaps they might reveal trends.
Given whatever variable might exist in a poll such as this, it's fair to say the community is pretty close to evenly split.
These polls only represent the small percentage of the people that actually read the batavian who are willing take the time to even vote. The percentage I pay attention to are the people willing to make a comment where several thousand readers will see it. I wish people would be more willing to be vocal one way or another about things that actually matter. People go insane making comments about things that strike an emotional nerve, but few comment on things that affect EVERYONE. I don't just pay attention to the poll, but to who, and how many openly reflect on it.
howard you said..Given whatever variable might exist in a poll such as this, it's fair to say the community is pretty close to evenly split...
the poll today shows 645 voted and 433 said no more funding..that doesn't seem evenly split to me..Seems like 70% want no more funding..why is that so hard for any on city council to understand....Many of our elderly who do not go on this site would say the same thing no more funding..
how many different was are
how many different was are you going to ask this question.....Why not just ask do you want your tax rate to increase to fund VB...

The other poll has 52
The other poll has 52 percent, as it stands right now, saying VB should get some level of funding.
We get a lot of elderly readers.
And they don't vote as a monolthic group.
