Who knows , but the jobs are not advertised ,that's for sure . How many jobs were temporary , seasonal , and low paying . GCEDC boasts big figures but doesn't back it up with any proof . Lots of shovel ready sites sitting around for someone or something to come . Hope and pray ?
Bottom line: GCEDC has never, and WILL never, offer ANY facts regarding it's direct responsibility in creating or even RETAINING ONE SINGLE JOB in this county - other than their own cushy jobs that include insane and unjustifiable bonuses, country club memberships and cars.
Yet the county continues to dump residents' hard earned money into this black hole of smoke and mirrors.
It's kind of like investing in a company that offers no P&L and never reveals its stock value.
Wouldn't you think it would be incumbent upon them **ESPECIALLY** in light of the recent publicity regarding this agency, to document specifically where, how many and what type of jobs have been created on their website so that the public could make up its own mind as to the efficacy of their organization?
Maybe “they” can release another well scripted press release on those figures. Another great question to ask is why “they” awarded the bid for the Med Tec Building to the contractor who bid HALF A MILLION DOLLARS OVER THE LOWEST BIDDER. It was very easy to hide behind your attorney then (paid for by my taxes?) You got away with that one on a loop hole and found another loop hole for your outrages bonus. Please resign immediately. If you clowns were employed outside of a government agency you would be arrested for theft.
Great questions Eric! Here are some other questions the taxpayers would like to know:
Who are the 27 agencies the GCEDC agencies around the "Counrty" "they chose to compare "themselves" with? They used comparisons from around the "Counrty" if I read it correctly.. The ABO clearly stated that; the GCEDC exeutive Steve Hyde is the "Highest paid" in the state. So lets be honest.. We live here... Western New york" I again found "their" comments ignorant and insulting.. Again lets compare apples to apples...
They boast of 430 million in investments {SPENDING} with a possible 18 million in attempted grants... Where is the difference of the 412 million coming from?
The GCEDC brags about all the business it's brought here...I would wager that most all the the companies did their own research and decided to do business here without the GCEDC's minor assistance..
Why does the GCEDC get any funding from the legislature? We the taxpayers paid over 1/2 of those hellacious Bonuses {$60,000.00} for instance that Mr. Steve Hyde was reported for receiving." {$430,000.00} in total compensation to the staff...
"They", the GCEDC gave themselves these bonuses as if they had No accountability... They further went on to state that "they" stand behind those Excessive Bonues, auto allowances and Country Club perks/kickbacks....
Again why is our legislature allowing them get away with this? What will our elected officials do about this?
"They" GCEDC say " we have to pay for performance" Getting a raise is one thing... but $60,000.00 is another
when you are already the highest paid in the state at $153,000.00 + $60,000.00= $213,000.00 plus thousands of dollars in other perks ...
This has got to stop... Our elected officials can not turn a blind eye to this... Please....
The answer to your question, as stated by all nine legislators is: Nothing.
I've been saying for a few years that major changes need to be made to the makeup of the legislature. The issue with the GCEDC is proof to everyone, that they are blind and deaf to the demands of county residents. It's not a party thing, it's about being so comfortable in your position that you think you can do whatever you like without consequences.
I stated in the other thread about this issue that anyone interested in running for the legislature this year (all nine seats are up) should get in touch with me immediately.
