With the influx of new industries and job opportunities I see Batavia heading in the right direction. The main concern and of other property owners is taxes. We have to hold the line on keeping taxes down. Higher taxes is the biggest negative factor in the cost of living. It is reflected in the price of homes and the cost of rentals.
Perhaps you should clarify if you mean the City of Batavia or the Town of Batavia. They are two quite different stories and I'm sure the survey is affected by that.
I just can't understand how the powers that be can turn down an opportunity to have new businesses come to Batavia. First of all I would love to see a new apartment complex on W. Main and if they didn't want a new Dunkin Donuts in Batavia near Five Star why couldn't everyone involved combine their efforts to finding a different location? Maybe I am missing the bigger picture but though they may not hire as many employees as a yogurt factory, they are still new jobs in both building the businesses but once they are open for business.
Why no new dunkin donuts? As long as I can remember, they been in batavia. If you visit their business, you will always find it neat and clean. Their staff is well trained and friendly. i have never had a waiting experience at dunkin donuts like I have at tim hortons. never!
Lorie, they did not turn down the business, but turn down it's location. I hope they will still locate some where in Batavia. Hopefully in the East end.

Wow - given the usual comments concerning things happening in Batavia I expected 70% "No".
That's impressive - folks may complain, but they're obviously not simply complaining for the sake of complaining.

My biggest concern is the crime in batavia.
