Photos: T-shirts hung at GCASA as part of anti-smoking message
By Howard B. Owens
To help promote an anti-smoking message, GCASA has placed about 50 T-shirts on PVC-pipe hangers along the edge of the agencies property at 430 E. Main St., Batavia.
As much as I appreciate the message they are sending, why is it that I always see a small group of people smoking at the edge of their property all the time? Doesn't GCASA have an anti-drug (that includes tobacco) policy? Regardless, I definitely commend their efforts!
I have absolutely no problem with anti-smoking awareness tee shirts, signs etc. but, and a big but, the sign that says 'NO MORE TOBACCO ADVERTISING IN STORES' is not only beyond the pail, but down right anti-American.
The government has ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS telling a store keeper, owner etc not to advertise within their store of ANY LEGAL PRODUCT. While advocates against smoking have every right to advocate they HAVE NO RIGHT TO DICTATE!

Just getting a pet peeve off my chest

I agree about the group of GCASA residents smoking right in the same spot they put out all those shirts..
