The Historical Society of Elba will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, at the museum on Maple Avenue Extension. It will be a social gathering, no meeting, although newly elected officers will be sworn in. Everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Members should bring a dozen cookies each.
Newly elected officers are: Earl Roth, president; Louis Esten, vice-president; Amy Vlack, treasurer; and June Rowcliffe, secretary. Each serve a two-year term beginning Jan. 1. Linda Horner was elected to the board for a 3 year term.
Next year, the society will be celebrating its 25th year. We are always looking for new members. We also have a junior membership group. If you love Elba, join us in keeping its history and memories alive for future Elbans to enjoy.
