UR Medicine’s Wilmot Cancer Institute Batavia will host a free community talk on Wednesday, June 8, called “Coping with Cancer.” The talk will be held from 6-7 p.m. at Terry Hills Golf Course & Banquet Facility, 5122 Clinton Street Road, Batavia.
A panel of experts from Wilmot Cancer Institute Batavia will address topics such as:
What happens once you have a diagnosis
Treatment options and second opinions
Clinical trials
Financial and legal considerations
Emotional issues
Local and regional resources
The panelists will include Kevin J. Mudd, M.D., who has been a radiation oncologist in Batavia for more than 15 years; Nayana Kamath, M.D., a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist; and Katie Peck, LMSW, a social worker who specializes in addressing the needs of cancer patients and their families.
