City of Batavia Firefighters IAFF (International Association of Firefighters) Local 896 will hold their annual "Fill the Boot" Drive to benefit MDA beginning at 9 a.m. this Friday, June 4.
Off duty firefighters who are members of Local 896 will be at the intersections of Court and Main streets as well as Court and Ellicott streets holding boots for you to put donations in.
This is the drive's 16th year. Last year, it raised $4,500 to benefit those diagnosed with any of the more than 40 neuromuscular diseases that are covered by MDA, including ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
