Batavia Girls Tennis drops three

Recently the Batavia Girls Tennis team lost three tough matches.  On September 28th they lost to Greece Athena 2-5. At second singles Michelle Richenberg defeated Sheri Leege 6-2, 6-3.  At third singles Lisa Ferkinghoff defeated Nicole DeRose 6-4, 6-4.The toughest loss of the day was at first doubles where Nicole Guilds and Maryssa Peirick lost in three sets to the undefeated team of Denae Kleehammer and Chelsea Touchstone by a score of 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (5).

On September 29th Batavia lost to Monroe County Powerhouse Pittsford Mendon by a  score of 1-6.  The lone win came when 2yr starting  first and second singles players Amy Schmidt and Michelle Richenberg joined forces to play first doubles and defeated Hannah Rasmussen and Hannah Yoo by a score of 7-6 (5), 1-6, 10-7.  The third set was a super tie-breaker due to darkness.

On October 7th Batavia lost to Brockport by a score of 2-5.  Nicole Guilds and Maryssa Peirick won easily at first doubles over Abbi Rice and Hayley Brugger by a score of 6-4, 6-1.  Alexis Jackson-Warner won at fourth singles by a score of 6-4, 6-3.

The team drops to 5-6 on the year.
