Batavia Girls Doubles Teams continue to have success in individual sectional play.
#3 seed Amy Schmidt and Michelle Richenberg defeated #6 seed Briane Kaufman and Krista Mansfield of HF-L 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the semifinals. They will play #2 seed Olivia Schnieder and Abby King of Mercy on Friday at the Mendon Pool and Raquet Club. The winner of this match advances to the finals and earns an automatic bid into the state qualifier round.
Unseeded Nicole Guilds and Lisa Ferkinghoff lost in the quarterfinals to #1 seed Teresa Weissend and Hailey Roth of HFL 6-3, 6-4. This put them into the Quarterfinal backdraw where they handily defeated #5 seed Sophia Eliseev and Kate Amuso of Mercy 6-2, 6-1. Guilds/Ferkinghoff play the loser of the #2 vs. #3 seed semifinals match on Saturday at the Mendon Pool and Raquet Club. The winner of that match advances to the state qualifiers.
